Anthony, I catch your videos every now and again. But they consistently impress me because they are so thoughtfully done and presented. Most times I can only listen as you go through what you are presenting, but I always get something that sticks in my thoughts. Really like your spirit, content, and presentation. Cheers.

Your comment made my day man! That's the aim of my lessons. Just to provoke some thought rather than giving licks and getting on with life as a " youtube educator ". I can't do that to myself let alone my subscribers. Thanks for the love and support. Cheers!

Anthony Muthurajah it’s my pleasure and I am glad that the comment made your day. Getting ready to head into my shed today, I need to drill down and hone my skills and ears for upcoming work coming my way. ❤️

Awesome that you made this video. I've been trying to learn a phrase a day by studying your Giant Steps Solo video. Thank you!

Yes, you’re right about that. Dm7 to Dm6 is essentially the same as going to G7+9. With jazz it sounds interesting when you avoid root position at least part of the time. And especially with Giant Steps it sounds better to create bass lines that progress stepwise, as opposed to lots of leaps of 5ths and 4ths.

I would love to see you make this into a series and break it down. These concepts are so earth-shattering to people like me that play the standard changes. I'm going to give this a shot, because I wanted to do a video cover of Giant Steps and have it not sound like an exercise. Thank you!

It's all good man. I've been playing bass for just about 8 years now and believe it or not, I spent a ton of time just finding options and still am. It's never ending hence I always mention there's no right or wrong. Thanks for your comment. See you in the shed. Cheers ;)

Just gotta thank you for these lessons again. This one and the melodic minor over blues lessons are pure educational gold! Also, you are so inspiring as a multi-instrumentalist. That was some legit blues guitar playing you posted recently! Do you have any albums out? Would love to hear you write and record.

hello anthony, I really like your videos. In this video I am completely lost. Could you simplify what you are talking about or guide me through your thought your process. Do you have any videos that help me understand what you are talking about?

Maybe this tune is something you might want to tackle later. If you're unfamiliar with the music, you'll surely be lost. I have other harmony based lessons on my channel where you'll find some stuff that might just help you digest this lesson. Cheers!
