Bro, love your vids. But most of all, you’re audio is always on point! The music is just loud enough, love that you keep the natural sounds, and when those fish surface or hit your fly you can always hear it! Everything is right at the perfect level!

Your videos are so relatable to the average Joe fly angler. You are about exploring and appreciating the whole experience and sharing with the world how beautiful Utah is. I hope you channel doesn’t lose that charm and become like a certain group of guys down in Orem. Keep up the great videos!

Doesn’t get any better than this. We all started out trout fishing in small streams and rivers with light tackle dry flies and nymphs. Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories.

So nice to see the underwater footage, to see the trout swimming out of the net. Just amazing ,and all the colours on the fish, that you don't see when you hold the fish in your hands.❤

honestly small streams are where it is at. I always find myself gravitating towards them when the more popular rivers are starting to get more and more people. Great video man.

In my neck of the woods it’s the Southern Strain of Brooke Trout. I don’t think I was ever happier than when I caught my first one, beautiful fish in beautiful places (extremely rugged places) and not another soul in site. My favorite fishing.

Dude! You need to do the Utah Cutthroat Slam! 4 Cutthroat species native to Utah. A video where you do it in 24 or 48 hours would be awesome! My buddies and I are going to do a 48 hour slam in early June. It is a lot of fun and they are beautiful! (As you know and illustrated in this vid). Another great video. Thanks!

G'Day, Always enjoy your videos and this is no exception. Lovely looking small stream and trout. I mostly fish small streams and creeks here in Victoria, Australia. A small creek runs at the bottom of my garden and it holds wild brown trout. The local streams haven't been stocked since the 1960's, so they are all wild not stockies. I'll be wading up it with a friend tomorrow morning. Possibly the last stream outing for this season. Cheers, Steve

Great video. Really nice scenery shots, nice shots of the stream, good fishing. Kind of funny to see how close you are to the road in some of the video. I think lots of folks believe you have to get way out in the boondocks to find fish.

You should definitely do a mini series on small blue lines! I'm a PA native and we hammer brookies in the mountains and nothing is more beautiful than those little pieces of artwork. Any native species hiding in the mountains is awesome.

Nothing like it. I will take our tiny Alberta tributaries over main stem any day. Searching out actual fishable water, getting so excited over such tiny fish, then having that "what the heck is one that size doing here" moment. Such pure fishing.

I'm totally with you, small streams and natives, and I'd add solitude! Fishing areas with lots of fishing pressure from from lots of other angers is not my thing either - even if there's big fish.

You all are spot when you all talk about your catches in small creeks/streams. We go the GSMNP often since we live in Nashville, and we rave about the streams there to others -- a lot of folks say, "Oh really, how big are you catching?" -- our response is "3-10 inches!" -- and then their response is usually, "What?! You can't even eat those! I wanna catch 14-20"! It's a waste of time to catch the babies!" -- *shrug* *thinking* "Great...more fish for us to catch!" 😆🎣

Love the videos! Important to note though that Rainbow Trout are native fish in plenty of locations west and north of Utah. They get a bad rap as hatchery fish sometimes, but there are wild native populations found all over ID/WA/OR/CA. Keep up the inspiring work!

Yep! And I know they’re native in parts of California as well. Thanks for the note!

I also enjoy fishing small streams, I think the fishing is better. I have a few favorites in western N.C. what type of flyline were you using? All of mine are double tapered size 2 to 4, all for the best presentation. Enjoyed watching. 👍
@annkirton9918 Жыл бұрын
the difference btw. "native" and "introduced" is that native fish got there on their own, without human interference. In the case of the cutthroat, they travelled under the ice sheet from further west in waterways created by melting ice during the last ice age rather than having been there since becoming a species.
