Distractions Distractions Distractions,,, I loved ALL the distractions. The storm coming in, greenry flowing with the increasing wind, sound of rain on the ceiling, background cafe noises, a loving couple using an umbrella, turtle art, your own distracting expressions, Steve's hat, metal straw/glass, the old wood, the slight glimpses of people shuffling through the door and especially the younger generation taking selfies were ALL welcomed distractions. In school, girls were my biggest distraction. At the end of this video , I came to the conclusion that forty years later, they still are!

Makai is a directional reference in Hawaii. It means "toward the sea." For example, in Hawaii, they don't give directions as "east", "west", "north" or "south". They say "Mauka" (toward the mountain) or "Makai" (toward the sea).

Tim - I have just downloaded "Phaic Tăn" and look forward to enjoying reading it soon. Tim excellent show as always. Steve portraits himself as a narcissist but he was clearly more concerned with taking up the table space in Makai more than himself. Very refreshing. Side note Makai in Hawaii refers to "oceanside". So if there are two sides of the street the Makai side is the ocean side the other side would be Mauka or mountain side of the street. Aloha

Another fun show. Always love the casual chit chat. Last 5 minutes got a bit rough to watch just because of the noise & distractions, but that's the nature of being out in the world doing the show. Based on descriptions in past episodes, I had no idea that there was any single spot that drew so many people, but Saturdays anywhere in the world are like that I guess. Steve wasn't kidding about the 'instagram spots,' was he? Geesh! Tim - once you get the Airbnb done, please take a step back and let go of a couple of things if you can. Letting go is the best thing humans ever learned to do. 😏

Nah. First, you can't swim off this beach. Then there's the national park; you can't build anything on this beach. But we could really stand a little more development. For instance, as mentioned in the video, there is a ton of unused commercial real estate in this town. We could use a few more businesses in our business district.

too right, i rented a house in Chiang Mai in a nice Moo Bahn, and one of my Thai girlfriends friend came over and went to take the stairs to the upstairs and came back and said someone hung themselves in the stairwell, that was it had to rent a modern house ( no ghosts )

Just saying, my dad worked like a dog from 8-9 (that was Greece in the 40s) until his late 60s, and always looked full of energy, plus, younger than his age (in his 60s). He retired, was left with… basically, watching TV all day long, and in a couple of years he looked even OLDER than his real age, he went to the other extreme. I guess some people are like that, working “feeds” them, not just with an income, but with… vibrancy (if that’s a word - not sure) as well. Thanks for the company, gents. I 've held up smoking a couple of times, for five years in both cases. When you've had an off-period the first one tastes awful and makes you feel sick - but you grin and bare it and then it gets better! You'll pull through! ;-)

As a smoker who’s quit many times, I’ve got to agree with Tim. For all smokers’ sake, try not to smoke during your Millionaire weekend, or if you must, vape - and you might consider mixing CBD (or THC) oil with a nicotine infused “salt” vaping liquid.

Great show guys ! Think you have perhaps raised the bar.. on yourselves ? Felt you both went to a new level of relaxed candor and comfort with each other this time around. Perhaps a combination of change of surroundings, increased variables out of your control, the Turtle Beach vibe and Tim's fatigue?, contributed to this. I suspect midway, when Tim talked about having enough of trying to come up with topics, production needs, etc was when he threw whatever script he had in his head, out tha window! I appreciate TNT needs a great deal of organization/planning etc however I think GOM benefits greatly from spontaneity and knee jerk reaction of which Steve is a master. Steve asking Why? also good for Tim.. along with new relaxing beach location and smaller community feel. The chemistry is great and I think the trick? maybe? other than where and when ..don't plan any of it? Bouncing off each other and the outside elements that come into play/view.. works!! Bravo and thank you! Ps may I make one suggestion? I like the soft static explosion intro of TNT.. I love the Trevor n special ones intro for Steve's show.. maybe a music intro for GOM?? Me and I suspect many others hum this bloody tune for a good while after! 😜 Eg. Trevor specials version of 'Plastic Jesus' from Cool Hand Luke movie.. no copyright ..check KZbin Colin Hay (ex Men at work) 'Come tumbling down' copyright??
