As for "???" - that's the portable cartridge holder. If you want to swap between (fast) black-only, or (slow) color cartridges, you keep the other one (that's not in the printer) in that sealed container when you travel with it. I had a BJC-50 printer I carried around in high school like a gigantic nerd, and I'd swap out the scanner attachment (replaces the print head with a scan head) and color print head in that holder.

Nice video! This printer is a very nice piece of Apple history. The Griffin iMate ADB adapter you show will not work with this printer, or any other Apple serial printer. Apple's printers used serial ports (mini 8-pin din connectors). While these ports are similar in shape to Apple's ADB ports, they are not compatible and do not fit in each other. You can use a Keyspan Twin Serial Adapter (28XG model or similar adapters by Griffin or CompuCable) which are a USB to Apple serial adapters. However, you may need to be running Mac OS 8.6 or Mac OS 9, as I don't believe drivers for this printer were ver made for Mac OS X. Also, these USB to serial adapters may require the use of additional software. Good luck!
