How did you get such sharp and straight edges with the mask brush when you drew the face? Did you just use a very small size along with muli-res or are there tools like polygon in the trim tool?

It's a combination of having enough resolution on the mesh, a sharp alpha on the brush (the default is pretty good) and a small brush :)

Yes. You only need the internet to download it, after that it works fine offline

You need the help of other software to optimize the mesh. In the iPad Cozy blanket is an option. Check out the Game Character video, I discuss it more in depth there
