Everyone saying it’s stupid he can’t fly but if you watch properly, the true reason he couldn’t fly is that he was tethered to his human life as someone disenfranchised from his kryptonian heritage. Kara wasn’t. This point is strengthened by S4 E1 where he says ‘Kal-El can fly but Clark Kent is still earth bound”. The reason he can’t fly is simply he wants to be human and flying symbolises transcendence over mortality. Clark knew this subconsciously and prevented himself, the finale opened his eyes to the fact that he isn’t human and never would be but he has to acccept that and ergo he could fly. Great story telling but I’m sure it didn’t hurt the budget either

Yeah one of the most powerful version of superman but only after learned everything.Instead of having him be able to do everything from the beginning make it interesting and have him learn it.This is back when before superman doesn't need food water or air He thinks like a human which impairs his powers.So its obvious he wouldn't think he could fly even with his super speed and super strength which was easy to know he had.

No no no, see the problem is hes the only Kryptonian whose not figuring this out and yet other Kryptonians figure it out fast i mean heck the kandorians get the powers and fly like that? If they made it to where every Kryptonian cant figure out their powers right away that would’ve been different like for example, Kara can fly but she cant figure out eye lazers or super breath something as a trade off that Clark can’t fly showcasing Kryptonians struggle to get everything. Clark should’ve been flying atleast a few seasons early and they came up with the most stupidest reasons why he cant or isnt trying to take time to figure it out thats what I love about Man of Steel atleast there once he realized his powers of flight he kept doing it over and over until he got it where as Zod and the others couldn’t figure it out and Zod was the only one who did and late. They couldve fixed it by saying he figured out flight at the beginning of the last season but as punishment Jor-El took it away or something like that.
