I recently found out from a Smallville fan how popular Lana was. He said “During the show original run on TV, out of all the main cast, Kristin was the most searched online, even more than Tom Welling. The WB promoted the hell out of Lana and Clana. Even the promos had Clark talking and they’d make it look like he was talking to Lana when he was actually talking to other characters.”

Isn’t it funny how Tom said the show ended because they ran out of stuff to write? Because that’s not what the network said. The show ended because the low TV ratings in season 9 led the network to cancel the show in season 10.

@@charliedallachie3539 If you can fall for a Co-star... then it's most like to be a doomed relationship. Because as Actor/Actress progress more & more into mature roles, director tends to a forces them in an uncomfortable scene and that usually spike up something behind the scene & ruin marriages. Jason Momoa & Amber Heard is newest one. Or at least, he stated that AH was the reason that ruin his marriage. Like Linsay Lohan for example... Director convince, that she must be "NUDE" to have a successful comeback, and she was in the first movie after she came back on spotlight. Marriages between Celebrity, hardly ever works... only 2 out of 100 that would works... and those usually couple from C or D List. A-listers, usually don't have a long lasting relationship. Jennifer Garner & Ben, Jennifer & Brad, Angelina & Brad... Jonhy & Amber... just to name a few... If you could name 5 couples who still A-listers and married over 2 decades... Then I'll listen. The most successful ones are the usually the one that retired after married and stay out of spotlight. PS. I'm glad that she didn't marry him. I wish she's would marry her Co-star in Beauty & Beast if anything. But still... Tom did had a scandal beating his exes. 2 Different Ex-girlfriends, if I recall. Those scandals were partially, if not entirely responsible for him unable to land any big roles anymore. He kinds of disappeared after scandals.

25:07 Totally agree with Kristin. It was a joy to watch the show in my teens and twenties, but people don't live like that anymore these days. They couldn't create it the same way today. It makes Smallville this great time capsule of a period where less was more. I have no doubt Smallville would still be popular today though with fresh eyes. There was really good storytelling, and a talented cast that fit their roles so well. The right chemistry between everybody made everything work perfectly.

Story itself... was good, same goes with Acting. What bothering me were the special effects... Between Smallville... I do preferred "James Cameron Dark Angel" better. It's more believable than Alien. Sadly, Dark Angel was made during the depression and world it created was too real, and eventually people stop watching it and force the show to cancelled after 2 seasons. But yes... I watch Smallville solely because of Kristen. I kind of had a crush on her. In fact... I never made connection that Clark Kent was superman. During the time... I know Superman as "Superman" and I know he had a personal life but I never new it was Clark because I never watch any Superman movies and Since Smallville never show him in a tight jump suit... I never made connection between... and it was years later... and I find Clark & Superman to be almost similar but still didn't make connection until Henry's version of Superman came out. And after learning about her fate and cross lover between Lana & Clark. I never finished all seasons. I think stop watching after season 5.

@talon36842 жыл бұрын
@@austinjt4264 I suggest you pick it back up from 5. It's worth watching to the end. There were some moments where you're like "come on already, where's the suit?" and a few moments that were dragged out because a certain someone wasn't around. I won't spoil it for you. But Lois made up for those moments, some episodes of Clark flying briefly made up for that, and there were cool episodes with Green Arrow involved that made things fun. And they finished strong with Season 10 overall. Get back into and binge it. If you're a real Superman fan, then I highly recommend it.

Lois was introduced too early, at that time Clark & Lana had not been given a chance to develop their relationship. They were separated soon as soon as they finally got together. They arnt wrong in regards to the DNA question . ‘Superman & Lois’ and ‘Smallville’ are very different shows. I watched Superman & Lois hoping it would be the same but it wasnt. But i grew to like the show. Its the best CW arrowverse show in my opinion as of now. But to me Smallville will always be top. It cant be replicated. If they tried doing it today it definitely wouldnt be the same.
@nickhydier12013 жыл бұрын
There are similarities between the shows I would. For starters they both deal with the story in Smallville. Yes, one deals with the origins of Clark himself (SV}, while the other deals with Clark being a father to his two sons and their struggles.(S&L) I will say for Superman&Lois that Jon and Jordan's struggles mirror to a degree, especially Jordan's, mirror Clark's in SV. As they are teenagers. That is navigating through highschool, while dealing with emerging powers and learning to master/control them. While also dealing with his relationship with Sarah. Which I may add is a nice parrallel to Smallville seeing as Sarah is Lana's daughter as Jordan is Clark's son. Even the storyline with Morgan Edge/Tal-Rho wanting to ressurect the Kryptonian race by implanting Kryptonian consciousnesses/spirits in human hosts has parrallels with SV storylines of season 5/6 of Zod's spirit possessing Lex Luthor and recreating Krypton. And also that of SV season 9 with the Major Zod clone and the Kandorians. The orb in SV and Eradicator machine in S&L are similar in that they both hold multiple Kryptonians. Whether that be the DNA of clones(Orb) or the consciousnesses/spirits(Eradicator machine). Hope that this all makes sense.
@icc20103 жыл бұрын
@@nickhydier1201 I definitely get what you mean. At first before they revealed who Morgan Edge actually was i thought they were going to redo smallvilles version of that story. And it does mirror smallville through clarks kids. Only with the addition of it being modern day.

I think it would actually be very easy to create a 2-hour one time movie event for the CW. The fans deserve an update on these characters, and it would help put these actors back into the public eye. The FX would be better, and the characters could be shown dealing with dangerous and gritty issues as adults who already have a journey behind them at the point the audience is allowed to catch up with them again. I'm thinking Silver Age Supes and Lois. Chloe could easily be accounted for by a voice actor or by a C-storyline that accounts for her absence. I just wonder if the cast would be willing to do that.

I would say the show started becoming more serialized when Christopher Reeves was introduced. At that point the show started revolving around the Kryptoian artifacts more and more. The next big step was Brainiac and then Lois arrives in Smallville looking for Chloe and further on other heroes start to emerge. Kara shows up. If I remember correctly the series basically ended with the biggest villian being Zod. I watched the show when it aired and at the time I liked the more heavy Superman Lore material but recently going back to watch it gave me more appreciation of the writing in the early seasons especially with the Kent family. Far better done than the Man of Steel movie.

Love how Rosenbaum says "It's called Smallville" to imply it shouldn't focus on the Superman universe. But it had Lex, Lois, Bart, AC, Victor, Oliver, Jimmy, Martian Manhunter, Doomsday, Darkseid, Hawkman, Dr Fate, etc.. If anything it introduced way too much from the Superman universe and should've scaled a lot of that back. I personally would've rather seen less Superman universe and more focus on Clark/Lois's journey into journalism. Have them attend Met U for journalism, become DP interns, work their way up, etc..
