I’m not sold on matrix headlights compared to older style actuators

With matrix lights that behave like this, I would just turn that function off and switch between high and low beam myself. The system becomes pointless, when it annoys and confuses oncoming traffic to such an extent.

Hopefully Smart will fix this behaviour with an update. The headlights look good in general, nice spread and strength. But that engine sound 🤣

I like this car - good 2nd car to have in the garage for the city - long distance capability is medium good. The design is growing on me. The lighting ....well I hope they can fix it with updates - who ever the OEM for the light system is? Is it from Geely or Mercedes Eco system?

Mercedes still owns 50% of the shares, but so bad matrix headlights, but that's software... ...much worse musst be the "suspension", do they think, a Brabus customer is just turned 18? but there is a "Pulse" version with the same Power or just buy the even faster Volvo EX30 Twin Motor Performance - same platform

You would think that they could use the reflecting markers every 50m and left outer lane marking as a reference to cut off the high beam beyond that on highways to prevent blinding oncoming traffic instead of trying to detect sometimes partially obstructed headlights from oncoming cars which works very unreliably. Worst case scenario is always trucks that have their headlights obstructed entirely and then retaliate by flashbanging you. Almost all highways have bushes planted in between the divider to obstruct oncoming headlights so systems entirely relying on detecting them simply don't work most of the time or are hyper senstive that any light source or reflection triggers it to shut off that segment.
