My cameras would not connect and I restarted everything the way he suggested and it finally worked after months! Thank you! 👆🏼👍🏼

During AP mode setup, I return to the Tuya app after connecting to the Smartlife-XXXX hotspot, and the hotspot immediately disconnects and disappears upon returning to the Tuya App. Why is this happening?

Our cameras are not meant to connect through AP mode. Please make sure that the mode at the top right of the screen when starting the connecting process is "QR code for Camera" mode". If you select smart camera from the device list, it should automatically try to connect through this mode.

My camera will work in "AP Mode" but fails to connect to server everytime in regular mode.

That is strange. It should connect in regular mode. Are you sure it was it the correct set up mode? A fast flashing light is regular set up mode and a slow flashing light is AP set up mode.

Are you sure that your WiFi is a 2.4 Ghz network? A lot of wifi networks will have 2 WiFi signals. a 2.Ghz and a 5Ghz. Your phone needs to be connected to the 2.4Ghz for it to work. If you still can't connect it after trying to resolve all the issues in the video, I would suggest bringing it to a friend or family members house and trying to connect to their WiFi to test it. If it connects to their network, you would then know that your home network might be the issue.

@@kassandraharz9345 I had the same problem so I added another network (2.4 ghz) to my home modem router and used that to connect the camera..now it works.

I have the camera next to the router and it still won't connect. I also tried it at my family member's house and it didn’t connect either

Are you absolutely sure that your phone was connected to a 2.4Ghz WiFi network when trying to connect? Our cameras do not work on 5Ghz networks. Also, if you have a VPN active on your phone it will not work and you will need to turn off the VPN when connecting. After you successfully connect, you can switch your VPN back on.

@smartpoint5960 I'm not sure what went wrong at the other house I tried it in, but I tinkered with the options and got it to work not long after commenting. I switched the network to the one that wasn't 5G and tried the different options for connecting at the top right part of the app (Bluetooth, QR code, etc.) I got it to work! Now I have to familiarize myself with the app...

Are you sure that your phone is connected to a 2.4Ghz wifi network before trying to connect? Our products only work on a 2.4Ghz wifi network. Also, if you have a VPN active, you will need to disable it before connecting. For more help, you can email us at help@smartpointco.com.
