This thing is absolutely sick!! Would love to see it in real life one day

Just realized tyhat you are still picking up the benefits of regenerative braking in ICE mode, and thoeretically improving brake response when slowing down. I feel like a lot of folks slept on the Smart ED, but I'm coming into year 10 and it's still a little go cart that's fun to drive.

Glad to hear yours is still going strong. I'm also happy I finally got my design done, and after driving it I believe it will extend my range past 100 miles since it barely uses the EV while in ICE mode and I have 2 gallon tank with 40mpg. So 80 miles gas, 50 miles EV

@@HandyDan Seems like a reasonable weight trade off for a hybrid. Some assembly required.

Oh noes, but having e-drive still on tap is like having instant insurance on tap. Aaa in your back pocket.

Good to see it back on the road. You have a lot of time on that project! I forgot, now do you control the clutch? Also, are you thinking of a slipper clutch or something like a recluse clutch? I think we talked about those before.

@@The-BCC This car is a mind blow! It is funny having two separate drive systems. The sprocket drive has failed 3 times during the design course and I just drive home on EV. And now that the Gas drive is solid, if the EV goes out, I'll drive home on GAS... I have the foot pedal clutch, I don't want an "Automatic" Clutch.

@@HandyDan ok, I was thinking you may have had a hand clutch. The recluse clutch is a centrifugal and can be rpm adjusted. I don’t know of issues with them. I have one in my Ktm 950 adv that that’s been raced. It’s a popular item in the dirt race world.

Would you sell this?

Anything is for sale for the right price. But honestly I have turned down many offers, and one for $85k is a possibility 🤔
