Ho yeah!!! I'm getting closer and closer to get that go-kart running! This is the installation of the hayabusa engine in the subframe, the fabrication of the main shaft and the testing of the reverse! I can almost smell the burning rubber!

Amazing work sir and great content. You can use a differential spider gear casing(with spider gears) weld their windows shut, pack them with grease, remove the crown gear and swap it with a same PCD sprocket to get open differential character.. It's a bit complicated assembly but the plus side is you get two CV shafts that go along with it, saving tonnes of money and time on the whole process. You can also use the bearings in the casing and create a custom mount for mounting the differential to your chassis.. Just an idea we use in Formula Student

Another amazing and entertaining video! It's nice to know even the pro miss things, like the pressing the shaft too far and the misaligned bracket. I feel better with the mistakes I've been making on my own project and able to move past it and keep pushing forward. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. I can't wait to see your next one. I hope you have a good weekend!

you could make the axle so it sticks a little through the flange and fit the sticking out stub intoo the chuck then use a steady rest at the other end of the lathe and machine the flange true to the axle that way , last thing to do it cut the stub on the lathe as far as you dare then hacksaw the last bit off could even do a flange at both ends just need to have a longer shaft for the axle to have enough material to get the stubs for the lathe chuck to mount it

Excellent project, thanks for sharing these videos, they're great fun to watch and they're also giving me ideas for my own work! Just one question for now, is there a reason you're not using a diff? After seeing you're skills and tools, you're more than capable of making a chain driven diff from a car one.
@VinyB57

Hi Alex, I will experiment will this built a lot of things and there s a lot of aspect that have a question mark on it. But for now, for simplicity reason I used a straigh shaft. Maybe I ll drift the smart busa, maybe even do some ice lake racing, so for now no diff, but maybe one later...will see 🤷‍♂️ Thanks for your question and welcome to my channel 👍

There's always a way....but it would need a 90° gearbox on top and a diff at the bottom...with a driving shaft between those 2....which is not such a bad idea 🤔, if you can find a 90° gearbox compact and stroung enough for the Busa engine. 🤷‍♂️ Thanks for your comment Rob!

hey, so when you engage your starter, your wheels are gonna start moving the car forward.... or am I missing something?
@joshcassidy2092
@joshcassidy2092 4 жыл бұрын
which would work, but you'd have to jack the back wheels up off the ground to start the car and leave the clutch engaged with it in 1st gear while you engage the starter. then take it out of gear before you lower it. it'll work at the track as long as you don't stall it.

Hi @@joshcassidy2092 ! Just to be clear, on the smart-busa there's 2 starters, one on the hayabusa engine itself, to start the engine and one big V8 starter on the sub frame to give the car a reverse, does this answer your question?
