How to start your car when the key not found Error pops up. Put your key to the underside of the steering column and try again. There are a couple plastic hash marks you need to line it up with.

This video was the one that actually worked! Thank you for showing where precisely the ridiculous 3 lines were to line up with!

My vehicle was a Freelander Mk2 2013 year. Tricky to get the key held in exactly the correct place, I just feel for the 3 lines moulded under the steering wheel. Your video got me out of a big muddle. Vehicle booked into the garage next week for investigations. At least I cac drive it now. Thanks again

Is that a reason for me to take it to get the issue fixed though cause I have this problem pretty often and my. Warranty is about to expire next month
@FarReachFR8 ай бұрын
Yes, if you have a warranty take it to get fixed before it expires. Depending on the issue, it "could" be just a battery in the key $3, or it could be the key itself $200, or it could be the transmitter for the key $2,000. Considering it could be thousands of dollars, I think having some one fix it while it is covered is a solid idea.

Any idea on how to resync the fobs now? I changed my battery 2011 LR4 . Key not recognizing. Used ur start bypass, works great. Now how do I get the fobs working again? It’s not the fob’s batteries
@FarReachFR6 ай бұрын
Swapping the standard battery out of the key, should not require it to be resync'd. Frankly, I was having a similar issue in the video, and while I have not yet taken time to try and fix it, it could be the key itself is dead (not just the battery) the whole key fob or that the transmitter/receiver in the rover has gone faulty. These are my current thoughts at least. Now all that said, if you need the key reprogramed, one thing I have been thinking of trying is this trick that powerfulUK has done. I have not done it yet, but it is on my list of things to try. Here is a link. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eaXbhpR6bdOAhbMsi=aJHGanc_ngJc7VNK

The fob was working a right before I changed the car battery so I do t think that’s it. And the batteries are all fresh. The IID only works when there is one already functioning key. So now I’m stuck. I have 2 fobs that will start the car with your bypass but will not reprogram. 😢

@@tovahshanok9035 hmmm, well the fact that the key was working directly before is good news. Let me just straight up say, I dont know yet on the reprogram side. But if you do find out, please tell me. Perhaps you and I are both dealing with a similar problem.

Are you using the bypass start everytime?
@FarReachFR6 ай бұрын
@@tovahshanok9035 Currently yes. Once in a blue moon I have had it start normal. But I don't even try normal any more. Just so used to the bypass at this point.

It’s not a bypass, it’s a resync to your fob. At least that’s my understanding. Otherwise, literally any other key for any other LandRover would work and I don’t believe that’s true.

This will only work with the key that is meant for the actual car. It still is within Land Rover's intended security system. (it wont let you steal a car that is not yours.) It is a bypass in that it bypasses the general receiving route for the key present signal. Thus if you have an ECU or antenna failure in some earlier part of the key identification chain you can skip those and take a more direct route.
