You are a skilled craftsman with attention to detail. Attention to detail, care and precision is lost on many people who claim to have a trade. I wish more people would watch your videos and realise that doing it right first time after doing the preparation, gives the best result.

Great video, thanks for sharing. Recently painted a silver Passat (3 areas). First time ever for paint repair. Lucky to be able to learn at a friends paint shop. Definitely not an easy process. Found stupid things like simple masking up to be really difficult to get right. Laid down the first two coats of base and the first coat of lacquer but bottled out on finished coat for the base and lacquer so left to the professionals. Painting in a booth is difficult enough, outside is another whole world of pain🙂

Bugs never show up until clear coat time. Something about it that they love. What primer do you use? I went UV this year and love it. It's expensive but the time it saves is unreal. Two minutes to cure and the build is unbelievable.

This mite sound like a silly question but where do you buy the standard paint after getting paint code of car and is the paint expensive to do a small repair ? Then if the standard paint don't match the body colour are you buying a different shade or mixing a different shade your self ... Lee

If you're in the U.S., we have the 6H rule. It states that you can spray outside of a booth and use a 3oz cup with a compliant gun. Or, apply for an exemption from the rule. All of the major paint companies have compliant products.
