Yet another battery powered gadget. Looks about as good as a tie gun. Great for knocking out a bunch of mats or some mesh for a slab but I'd never use that for a pier or grade beam.

Come on you folks!! Remember John Henry and his race with the steam powered hammer? He won, but he died! Same, same with the introduction of water powered looms in Europe. Get in gear and help these folks build better machines so you can use you talents and knowledge to keep our productivity as the standard of the world. Best of luck!

How you supposed to draw the bar in when the bends aren't right? Union rods rule

This tool you have to be careful how you use it. The problem you face is in the twist. The wire twist is so tight it shears off and the twist follows an upward motion leaving the rebars loose. Either way you do a twist the point to turn and pull.

as a union ironworkers local 86, I do not see this as efficient nor safe. the tie is not tight. The cage will not hold up to the transportation and setting process because the ties are not tight.

Lost your credibility when you said you're a union worker. Slower inefficient process's are what keep unions around. In the real world where shit gets done ...

dus toin it sucks that you have had a negative experience with unions. I would encourage you to go to the local 86 Union Hall check out the apprenticeship with an open mind. first year apprentices start out at $26 depending on experience. and then come up to one of my job sites. hopefully you will have a more positive experience. then you can see how we do things in the Pacific Northwest.

I use to tie rebar way back in the 1980s. I pair of nips and a roll of wire on our belt worked for us. No need for a heavy power tool and to have pre-bent wire ties. I'd call this WOFTAM (waste of fucking time and money)

Dear Mr. Santiago, Smart Tie system has several advantages, included that it doesn’t require repetitive rotation of the hand and wrist thus reducing the risk of carpal tunnel type injuries.

Gloves and rotating equipment? What a wonderful way to get your fingers torn off....(sarcasm). Don't do it. Having been in the medical field I've seen what gloves and rotating equipment can do to your body. If there is one rule by the safety Id10ts to disregard that's it. I'd rather have a few tiny cuts from the tips of the wire than have my fingers twisted off. Look it up. Glove injuries are gruesome.

This is such a joke, not only is it slow as fuck, but you have to carry those stupid ties with you, tying by hand is probably 3 times as fast, or spend the money on an actual rebar tier

This is the most stupid thing ive ever seen. I work in reebar and concrete and there isnt anyone in there right mind that would ever use anything than a max reebar tier. Tgis device takes to long and is a waste of time. Either u tie reebar with pliers or u use a max reebartier.
