Thank-you for asking them to implement single view monitor view while headset is running!! that has always bothered me... doing crazy ass flips in UH1 or the mini 500 looks pretty crap in a double view on the screen when friends or family pop in to chat and you're in VR lol ... its not the same as a pretty single view ... good man!

VR !! Plastered bright red but you were so vague with any details regarding performance and it was hidden right at the end. Kind of frustrating to watch lol. You sound like a great guy and Sorry To be so blunt but this Vr performance does not sound that promising the way you scurt around it lol. Yes beta I know

@@frankzappa2274 No need to apologize Frank! I appreciate the feedback and honesty. I hope you understand a few limiting factors - I was using their system to capture my experience, which was cool, but I have no clue what it was. Pimax was installed and I do not OWN a Crystal Light so I did not tweak anything. It was good performance. Above OK, but not perfect. That is what I told another person who asked. At one point I said I would not say FPS, i meant to say, because I did not have it displayed and did not know how. Recording VR is terrible difficult and the replay looks worst than what my experience was. With that being said, I didn't mean to click bait or anything but the video was over 30 minutes and I had to cut it down a bit lol. I probably you a coffee or beer for watching the whole thing. I will be uploading that whole flight in 4k with some audio commentary over it addressing some comments and concerns mentioned here like yours. Finally, you know i know this is beta or alpha or whatever and I did not tweak anything. THE SIM took 13 seconds to load BACK into a location I was previously at! We should be getting an improved experience for VR but we have to wait and see and play Microsoft Settings Simulator 2024 before we find out, haha. Thanks again for the feedback!

I love the fact a "game" gets flack for implementing more gamelike structures and modes to give you things to achieve within it. People are so up their own a** about simulators when they're on par with Barnie and Friends color matching adventure.
@AustrianA34022 минут бұрын
People still think "missions" and realistically operating an aircraft (with all it's systems) is mutually exclusive. I have no idea how that thinking arose, it's ridiculous (I mean it never happened before so there isn't even history). Furthermore why having a "career mode" with special tasks would negate the use of a "free mode" like we were used to. This is just pure baseless cynicism. How many real world airline pilots are flying what would be the equivalent of "free flight". If one really wants to simulate things realistically there is no other way to fly an airliner other than the "career mode" way. In all those new missions/activities you still need to handle aircraft realistically and exactly the same way you would in "free mode". A Fenix still flies like a Fenix no matter if it's free mode or within the career mode. Or did GTA planes handle differently in free mode vs missions? In the past we used to be excited for these kind of new additions coming to the simulator. Nowadays it's just pure cynicism and that weird thinking of "well no simulator has done it before and these things are generally in games like GTA" that they'd equate the gameplay as such. I don't know what happened.

Thanx! I wish they would use microsoft copilot as an actual AI copilot. I was flying with chatgpt in voice mode on my phone the other day, telling it to be a 737 first officer. It was able to help me with checklists and information about the airports and general help flying, but since it didnt have any info from the sim i had to keep telling it what was going on. Imagine if there could be an AI copilot you could talk to that would be connected to the sim and know what is going on. That would be awesome. I think we will have that in a few years at max. I cannot see why not

@HomesickforAlaskaКүн бұрын
Sayintentions is close to that now. They use Chatgpt for ATC and your copilot. So, yes, unfortunately the way it stands is that WMR software will be removed from the Microsoft Store, rendering our headless useless. With dropping WMR support means if we want to use our Reverb G2 we'll need to stay on Windows 10 or older version of Windows 11 that supports WMR. In terms of a Multiplayer Economy no, but there will be an economy in the sense of you can start your career at just about any airport you want. You get your first certification. You then start making money to buy other certifications (which you get tested on) and then you pay and past test and you can buy / sell aircraft. So we have that which is so cool. Oof that vr footage looked rough. I was hoping for improved performance and the possibility of 90hz native without reprojection but I guess that's not going to happen.
@theVRpilotКүн бұрын
As your resident VR expert lol, I have to say yes it wasn't great, but also it is insanely difficult to record VR without the proper setup. I do not own a Pimax Crystal Light, I do not know how to tweak it to optimize it and while I could have tried that, I simple didn't have any time. SO out of the box, performance was not terrible. What you see was recorded by an External Atmos system directly to an SSD. I had zero control of the software and or hardware as well as any and all settings. In short, do not let this be a definitive guide that VR is bad. It was a good experience with room for improvement! I do not know about 90hz without Reprojection. Maybe eventually, but maybe not on day 1.

Do they now include vr controller tracking so you can actually reach out and interact with knobs and switches in the Cockpit? Possibly even hand tracking if you use the knuckle controllers or hand tracking on the quest?
@theVRpilotКүн бұрын
VR Controllers currently work in MSFS2020, but they are so much better in XP12! They have improved a bit, but holding, twisting and flipping knobs and switches isnt accurate and I often do the opposite of what I mean to do. I did NOT get to try them and didn't think of asking, sorry lol.

Otherwise, your eyeballs, are rubbing on the displays. Really.... Thanks for the look at FS2024. Do you know if the ATC engine will work like Beyond ATC, or Say Intentions? Or will we still need 3rd party ATC addons?
@theVRpilotКүн бұрын
ATC will be improved yes, and they will have a better understanding of flight plans. AI Traffic has been super modeled! they said we have 90% of all major aircraft flying and 25% of worldwide airlines. I image this is likely going to cover a LARGE majority of what most users see and I suspect they will likely continue working on that. Jorg told me that while we don't have AI ATC integrated yet, they weren't exactly against it as some companies like Say Intentions and Beyond ATC are crushing it, but those systems are roughly at 85% completion. He stressed that importing a product that isn't quite finished doesn't make sense. Overall they are aware and are looking to keep improving it and seeing what is available.

This was great, thank you! My question (if you were able to see the following): do any of the buildings look melted? And, do the bridges look intact/not attached to the water?
@theVRpilot9 сағат бұрын
Hey Knight! I did see most buildings did look great, a few trees and shrub areas were melted and some bridges weren't processed correctly. With that being said it is key to know the what the limits of the Photogrammetry, LIDAR data, and Azure AI are capable of... So while some areas end up being pristine and crisp, some fall a bit short. They did purchase new imagery and terrain maps i believe for either the US, and most of the world has been updated too. I think we will see improvements but at the same time, really due to how this works, I think we will have some funky areas. Some folks are really bothered by this, but the problem is this is not a random procedurally generated world with set buildings, trees and assets. It is done with AI Lidar data, photogrammetry data and satellite imagery. This simply can not be a world that looks like GTA 5, or COD, or Star Citizen. The worlds we walk around will have flaws and issues but they worked extremely hard to really improve the world as we will now be able to walk around in first person. Again, while there are flaws, overall massive improvements have been made but I suspect we might see some areas that aren't perfect as mentioned above. Hope that helps!
