So she stopped any academic pursue and living in a rural community there was nothing on offer anyway. She just encouraged her daughter at home and endeavored to teach the child social skills. It was hard as the child had high functioning Asperger. With great effort the child was encouraged in social clubs and sports, like social swim club. 20 yrs down the track this girl has grown up and managed to have a happy family and works in financial world and is doing very well. @Zane Grey I think Edison was an opportunist with above average intelligence 🤔 . He was money 💰 driven and Tesla had no love for money which was probably why he didn't look to profit from his work. If Tesla had had a bit more love of the coin and worked on the production and profit 📈 aspect of invention he'd have put Edison in the shade. I've read somewhere Tesla financed Edisons electricity production using Teslas discovery of the alternating current rather than Edisons belief he'd discovered the secret of viable electricity production using direct current. Didn't he Edison build massive stations for production of electricity which were not sustainable. Whereas Tesla's Alternating Current was a viable option. Tesla died alone in a Hotel. The social aspect of his personality was lacking like Sir William in this story. Parents who work in jobs and leave their children to stew are negligent in the core aspects of parenting which is a feeling of security that a child needs.

Well, you can't test Socrates, as he was opposed to the idea of writing down ideas, instead being a conversationalist -- attaining a "disciplined conversation". He also believed it is "weakening the necessity and power of memory, and for allowing the pretense of understanding, rather than true understanding." "It is a discourse that is written down, with knowledge, in the soul of the listener; it can defend itself, and it knows for whom it should speak and for whom it should remain silent." "He [Socrates] worried that reliance on writing would erode memory (it has!), but also, and maybe more importantly, that reading would mislead students to think that they had knowledge, when they only had data." "When told that the Oracle of Delphi had revealed to one of his friends that Socrates was the wisest man in Athens, he responded not by boasting or celebrating, but by trying to prove the Oracle wrong." Socrates was truly an incredible man. I'll see about Epicurus also.

Well as a child, I heard that I had an IQ of 140 and that I was smart .Then a friend told me he had an IQ over 200 so he was smarter. I did not know how IQs were figured so I assumed he must be that smart. Then I took an IQ test that was given on the TV. There were 100 people there, scientists, Doctors, Teachers to name a few of the people. Again it said I had an IQ of 140, but out of the 100 people taking the test, I outscored all of them. Keep in mind an IQ of 100 is the average IQ. Just mathematically, it is not very possible. There was a lady a few years ago claiming to have an IQ of 210. She wrote books and gave lectures. Unfortunately she did not have the IQ she claimed. To be honest, I still do not know how IQ scores are computed, I am dubious of anyone saying they have an IQ over 200.

If you look at some of the brightest minds, you'll see that they are very much in a lower state of mind because of this. It would be incredibly difficult for him to communicate with the average person because of how different he is, hence them being more likely to be depressed. You become the black sheep because you're seen as odd to normal people and you're ostracized. The average person wants to feel powerful or wanted (See Nietzsche); they don't want to change or improve the world in any meaningful way because they can't, so they take it out on people with potential. It has become easier now with computers without the need to get out to form connections and we should be grateful despite its obvious downsides. Being unusually intelligent can be very lonely because most people are either jealous of them or want to use them as a tool for their own gain and rarely understand them or think of them as being human.

Unfortunately, a person at this level of thinking feels lonely because there is no one who can fully understand what he wants to share. Sharing thoughts and deeds is in human nature and this satisfaction is denied to geniuses unless they meet someone at their level. This guy had no chance to find his equal. When you have a high IQ, you crave to meet someone smarter than you to stimulate your brain. Imagine a chess champion condemned to playing with beginners. Not much fun, is it?

@The person sounds to me like you are an introvert my dude. We get tired out quicker when around other ppl and yet alone we feel energized. You may also be a T type (thinker) over an F type (feeler) thinking types are often in their heads having an amazing time with infinite possibilities and ideas. When trying to express that to another in words it becomes difficult. Have you ever taken the myer briggs personality test. It's free online. I felt as you do for all my life then at 30 I found out about the test. Took it. Found I was an INTJ and the world started to make more sense. I had everyone I knew take it so I could study their types. Doing this helped me connect better to ppl because I had this tool to understand them better aswel as myself.

This reminds me. At high school I’m in the math team and one of my teammates is named Alan, who is so smart that I can’t think of words to describe it. He took Precalc in 8th grade AP Calculus in the 9th grade. And I thought it was impressive for me to take Algebra 1 and 2 in the 7th and 8th grade. And even besides math, he took all the honors and AP classes available to him. I highly doubt his iq is below 150 and I highly doubt he won’t become famous like Albert Einstein for his big brain. He is a high school senior now and he’s getting my vote for homecoming king.

I dont agree with comparing smart people from back in the day and someone from now. You may ask yourself why? Well there's many factors like the internet, smartphones, AI, Smart Cars, foods and vitamins they didnt have back then. There's literally hundreds of resources they didn't have. So I dont think it's fair to compare the old with the new.

Very sad to be so isolated, to not understand other’s social cues, and to have a mind that nobody can else can relate to. Some gifts can be a curse like that. At least he knew how to write and could put his own thoughts and ideas on pen to paper. It was probably his solace.

I just knew that my IQ si above average. No wonder I don't really get along with people. My IQ tested 147 to 147, really thought it's normal. I get along well with my boyfriend, he has 150, whenever we get bored, we talk about things that no one could understand. I found comfort in him. I never thought anyone would like to bond with me because I'm too smart. All my life, I've been studying, I kept and kept on studying, I study more on politics, astronomy and literature. Exams on my age never exites me, I could ace them all. Because of my intelligence, Iearned to control people. I was so smart that I could fool anyone I want. I really thought I have the world on my hands but no. Many envied me, I'm beautiful, talented and smart. I regretted all of what's happening with my life, it's not only about intelligence. I didn't had the chance to enjoy my childhood because my brain is craving for more learnings. I never learned to interact and make friends. I'm thankful of my bf, he never makes me feel that I'm alone nor I'm crazy. : )

When I was very, very young, there were a number of folks that thought I should have been in High School at 8 years old, and college by 10 My father would have absolutely none of it. He had believed putting me in that position would stunt, if not destroy any semblance of a social life; I'd be smart, sure, but I'd have no way to relate to anyone. He also thought I'd be used. (He was right) So, I went through school like anyone my age. If we were learning a subject I liked or was interested in, I'd destroy the curve (sorry guys) On other things I was ambivalent, I did just enough to pass; my thoughts elsewhere. I was asked more than once how smart I was, and my answer has always been the same; "as smart as I needed to be". Don't get me wrong, being really, really (one more) really smart has its advantages, it can also be very lonely. I'd rather be "normal" with great throngs of friends and adventures, then to be someone who has an easy time with ideas, but no real grasp of people skills

What is really important is one's own happiness; to be happy with one's self, what they do and get out of life. People do not appreciate other people's intelligence. People care most about themselves. Veritas!

Aptitude Quotient (A.Q. the Ability to learn) is a better measure for intelligence because a person living in the jungle may be more intelligent than a mathematician. While I.Q. examines accumulated knowledge of geographical history and social normative aspects of the individual.

But William Sidis did get married. He married Sarah Mandelbaum a highly motivated person like him. They had two children Billy and a daughter born April 1, 1898. From the 1st days in his crib the infant was taught to be a prodigy. His father dangled letterblocks before his eyes and he and he knew his alphabet by the time he was six months old. So I guess his whole life wasn't gloom & doom.
