@probablynotabigtoe94075 жыл бұрын
Only way to make a better quinjet better is increase it's power to weight ratio, because that design is as aerodynamically stable as a rock. I agree it looks cool though 😌

You can absolutely see and even feel the passion that Josh has for this hobby that he has embraced to the point of earning a living doing it. His enthusiasm is so incredibly contagious and infectious that long time subscribers have been able to watch it transform Stefan from some guy who came to work at Flitetest, to an accomplished pilot and fabricator of rc airplanes in his own right. I love it. Keep up the great work and great vids, (which is still like to see more than once a week!). I’m off to Kickstarter to grab one of the 4.0 kits now.

I like your videos that tell the story of trying to meet a design objective with simple materials. I would like to see a video where you choose an older design such as the FT Simple Soarer and update it's performance, drawing on advancements in build techniques to push the envelope of foam board airplane performance. Joshua Finn is starting to go that route with his hotliners and chuck gliders. I would love to see you guys start up a series that really advances the art of foam board performance aviation.

Try adding a KF step on the leading edge so it's not relying solely on high AoA to generate lift? Speed may go up, but efficiency / batt life should increase as it's not expending so much power downwards to maintain height once it's got itself into that high AoA state. Years ago I made a RC Powers 4ft long depron F22; that KF step really makes a difference to the lift generated; if you wanted to go high AoA anyway, you could get it almost down to walking speed, but at cruise speed it was essentially level as the KF step generated enough lift to require zero AoA.

Guys...going "with the wind" or "against the wind" does NOT matter as far as the aircraft flying thru the air is concerned. Yes...it matters as far as the GROUND is concerned (changes in groundspeed), but there is NO change in airspeed or aircraft flight performance going "with" or "against" the wind, unless the pilot commands it.
@kevinfinkel55365 жыл бұрын
What about splicing in a mini solar panel to augment the battery? Something off of one of those solar walkway lights.
@thisaccountisntreal1075 жыл бұрын
You'd still probably burn up your battery power before the solar panel could charge it up
