If you don't know what Madness is, go down the Madness raibbt hole. It will be the best rabbit hole of your life, as they appeal to everyone and have such a great message. The definition of a bunch of great blokes. My nephew is now a Madness freak, and we're going to fly to England this summer to see them together, just because I showed him the baggy trousers video.

The Finsbury Park gig was epic. I walked all the way from Chalk Farm, through Kentish. All the way up Seven Sisters Road. Felt the right thing to do. Magic.

Whatever you think about Madness , they are part of British culture. I was in a college cafeteria when someone put on Orange st on the jukebox for the first time . I thought ...this is good

I agree that 1983 was the start of a downward slide. I remember someone at school saying Uncle Sam was ”crap”. Between 1980 and 1983 they were one of the coolest and most popular bands in the UK. A time when most boys at school wore Doc Martens and Harrington jackets.

Couldn't believe it when Lee said he was skint in 1989. After all that hard work, Top Ten Hits & millions of record sales that would've been hard to take.

I don't believe that Madness were isolated to just being enjoyed by the ska/reggae followers. Try not tapping your feet when traditional Irish diddly-dee is playing. It is a thing that people are motivated to enjoy.

they looked like the Monkees in their silliness and the usa missed the monkees at the time. one of them even looked similar to Mickey Dolenz . the usa was also going through a "sax guy playing the solo" era with bruce springsteen, men at work, and sade, and many others.. they had all they needed to make a hit in the usa. TODAY, any group from australia that looks similar to the wiggles, will be a smash. that generation is now in their early 30s, and have no real music to listen to that reaches them. A cute short girl, three guys, that is campy looking. Boom... hit..
