Guys your videos together have me in stitches! From your foraging hat, to you wetting yourself laughing at Sam getting battered by the lobster and your highbrow culinary review skills "It's not my favorite, but it's not rancid!...", awesome review. It never ever fails to impress me though how you both take stewardship of our coast and its amazing resources entirely to heart. For lads who don't make their living from the sea it is awesome to see how much of a positive example to others you are whilst still having an amazing time, thank you for sharing. Amazing stuff as always boys, hell yeah! 👍

I really appreciate how u always put the small animals back where u find them, it’s nice to c young guys taking care of the area they forge in. You always put the rocks back carefully so u don’t hurt any animals. I was hoping u would find two big lobsters so u each could have ur own to eat.

Awesome video and very informative about being aware of your surroundings on the water. The tides are quick to rise and cut you off from the beach. I'm showing this video to the young men in my church who go to the beaches very often looking for clams and other shellfish. Who knows, we just might pay you a visit one day and go forging together.

Don't pry off the seaweed holdfasts!! Seaweed is slow-growing so just cut a few "leaves" or strips in the case of the spaghetti weed and leave the holdfasts attached to the rocks so the plants can regenerate. You don't appear to have many urchins but here in California we are overrun with them and the daily limit is 40/person and people are encouraged to eat the orange insides ("Uni" in sushi parlance) because the urchins destroy the kelp forests which fish require to live in. Luckily in the 30s we found an otter colony down south and brought some back to the Monterey Bay. Otters eat urchins and help keep that population in check but even the now-2500 otters can't keep up. So go easy on the seaweed - which is very nutritious - so you always have some around.

Hi mate,,don't know if you read this in time, but I'm of our to a local estuary later today,,I got some nice peeler and softies..I usually kill my crab then bait up,,is there a possibility that you can use them live by hooking them and wind elastic round the legs to the hook, not really a fan of live baiting but have been wondering to see if it would make a difference,,or keep to using them dead?
