Billy destroyed the whole grunge scene by using the very exact power chords in such an unique way, imho! After MCIS he scorched the earth! Genius in the 90s. Sadly so bad right now.... I miss the real Smashing Pumpkins. This is coming from a die hard Nirvana fan...

I’m in the same boat: 38 and dumbfounded that I’ve never known about this song until now. I’ve watched this concert numerous times now, and this song always grabs my soul. I’m currently trying to make my wife a SP convert. My kids, well, they have no choice in that matter. Haha

There is not one single weak track on that double album and that is an astounding achievement. I only regret they farted around with Mellon Collie spelling, lol, should have been Melancholy, the real spelling. The album is so utterly nihilistic and real, why mess with the title Billy? A fruit and a dog? What were you thinking Mr. Corgan?

This show is a couple weeks after Cobain died. Anyway, great stuff. Im surprised they had so many guitar effects even back then, reverse delay and stuff. Pumpkins always knew just the right blend of effects and dynamics. Great writing and unique vocal tone.

oh yeah, most guitar effects were designed back in the 60s... people being brave enough to utilize them live was the question (even back in the 90s, computer-controlled effect boards were commonplace, and billy used one constantly)

Funny enough... I was at Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream tour Biloxi, MS April 8th, 1994... the day they found his body. I remember Red Red Meat opened up for them. And everyone was talking about it on the floor while we were waiting... they had seen it on TV before coming. This was well before cell phones were readily available.
