charles's mom cameo into "mom i'm recording" was great LMAO i enjoyed this topic especially because it's fun to apply it to melee, where simple vs complex is so much more pronounced! as for tech that's "worth going for" in ult, slingshot and perfecting z drop combos come to mind

The amount of knowledge in the podcasts is so impressive. I'm glad you guys keep doing these, it's really interesting to think of the game from different points of views

Thank you for this episode, it was very insightful. It could have been a little less personal and more general, but in the end it made the points easier to understand, so that's a W anyway. I feel like adding complexity in general is only worth it if you have enough time and skill to make it shine, but there are very few people for whom that is the case; most people are already facing too much complexity even with simple characters and gameplans just because of the engine of the game, and I am definitely one of those people. In the end, I'm pretty sure I'll never reach the ceiling of Incineroar, simply because I don't have the time and skills to reach that point. I'll still play Joker when I feel like it, and that's fine with me.

Honestly my fav CC so far. As someone who struggles with character choice and the like, it was very helpful. 2 fun facts 1. There was a second tony voice and it haunted me this ep during the editing. I did remove it but now I'm always worried of when Ghost Tony will show up again and haunt me during the editing process of Coaches Corner. 2. I really wanted to include WolfeyVGC's face in the thumb but couldn't fit it in lol

As a Cloud main who also likes Robin, I'm a huge proponent for simplicity (some of the sentiments in this video remind me of Core-A Gaming's video on Playing, Fast and Slow) I'd say the value of complexity is that it allows you to weigh on your opponent's mental stack (but there needs to be enough reward/gain on the player's end or at least enough threat/pressure on the opponent's end that either forces mistakes or enables favorable positions/situations) but loading your opponent's mental stack isn't that necessary if they're barely thinking or paying attention. If it helps to round out or complement your mix-ups in a given situation, then that's worth the extra level of conplexity. As stated in this episode, once a sufficient level of complexity is reached, further complicating the game will likely yield diminishing returns

Thank you for the episode! I think I’m personally struggling with finding a really strong game plan where my holes can be worked around. I play Diddy Kong and I think popgun cancels are a requirement. Taking going in and out of burst range to get a combo starter move or banana opens so much for the character rather than just regular footsies. I think of them similar to snake’s b reverses to help him land out of disadvantage
