KEEP IN MIND EVERYONE - the two line drivers were set up using high and low level inputs. I wouldnt normally use both high and low on the same system, this was JUST to demonstrate how to do each one individually. Normally, as you might guess, one or the other would be used but not both at the same time.
@meade91613 жыл бұрын
@ford302redneck please read the description. If this was going in my car, i would use all high level or all low level...but not both. I didnt mean to cause confusion but i was simply showing how to use them both, individually for different situations. I put it in the description and explained it no less then 5 times already, 10 if you count me explaining that on FB and my website where i posted the link.

@3mmanuelll the more power you send the amp, the lower the gain is overall and that keeps everything clean. Imagine your amp putting out FULL clean power with the gains only up a very very little bit, if at all. :) Also, you can google the rockford fosgate 3sixty line driver and get some info on the ones i am using here.
@meade91613 жыл бұрын
@daddyoca69 this video was made to demonstrate the two different ways of hooking up a line driver with the DD-1. Please take the fact they are both hooked up at the same time out of the equation. If it was in a car it would be one or the other but usually not both. I just wanted to show how both ways were done bro.

I have one of your DD-1, I love it. Great product. It is great that you are showing how to use your DD-1. Keep up the great work.

In response to Travis Johnston, Steve has a few other videos on installation and adjustments. Take a moment to view them and you'll see that he places all the settings on the head units to the null value, centered and no modifications to the sound from the deck. This gives you the base setting to check from if you encounter any issues.
@meade91613 жыл бұрын
@ford302redneck please read the description bro. I only did it like this to DEMONSTRATE the two types of inputs and what to do with them. I wouldnt use both at the same time in an install.
@gieauto71755 жыл бұрын
In response to James Falvey I believe Steve is simply showing how the tool works and the difference between high level inputs compared to low level inputs. But your point it would make sense if you were doing an install you would set the amp gains to to lower setting of 24 to avoid clipping. The tool is helpful at identifying were the clipping occurs. Before seeing this tool I was told to listen for clipping, which gave me an ok performance. I've ordered the tool and now expect stellar performance now.

@walkingfreak i hear ya bro. When i couldnt afford the things i wanted, i didnt complain about my job washing dishes, which i hated. I got a job ROOFING to help me live and still have fun in life. Its still a cheap ass deck no matter how you look at it. The god damn thing doesnt even have front RCA's. It has front high outputs and rear/sub rca (low level). You get what you pay for, its a cheap deck.

In response to Gerardo Gomez, not to cannibalize Steve's site but Mark from Custom Audio Fabrication has several videos showing how to check for clipping and were to hook up various different tools. There's also a link there to purchase the SMD DD1 once you've been convinced. And you will be convinced once you realize what you've been missing in sound quality.

What’s the distortion thru the RCA’s?
@SenorDennis13 жыл бұрын
@DirtMcGrit Turn the gain on your amp all the way down and hook the dd-1 up to your amp. Turn the epicenter up until it distorts on the dd-1, back it off, then turn the amplifier gain up until it distorts. Then you can turn the epicenter all the way up on the songs you want to and you know it wont be distorting.

Gonna be ordering my DD1 this week. Im a bit of a home audio nut, what with 900 rms pumpin through the dd3500 under my desk, ac to dc converters, 1100 watt surround off of my computers digital signal... I got like 4 or 5 different eq setups to tune together so that thing will help TREMENDOUSLY... should have bought it already dough... >:)

@JCGascon0015 жыл бұрын
Loudness only works at low volume levels, pumping highs and lows, after vol 12 in a (kenwood at least ) it shuts off itself
@jamesfalvey776 жыл бұрын
I do not expect a response from the host of this channel. So if your highs max out at volume 24 but your lows max out at 33, why not set the gains at volume 24 ? Why even set the lows at 33 and not 24? because you'll clip the highs way before the lows.

@chrstbelieving do you hold the volume button down for the deeper settings? Like in general hold it down to go into the HPF/LPF and to turn off Loudness and on the bass/mid/treble you can hold it down and chose the Freqs. I don't have an amp to my RF 1652-s comps and they sound good off my KDC-x592. I'm just sayin

Jemer Bautista Yes... The Manual says to pick the Lowest Number when you test the Head Unit at 40hz and 1kHz and will be your Max Volume. The test he was doing here was just showing different installs with Hi-Level and RCA from Deck. peace...
