man I wish I knew the basic variety of geometry node possibilities, like how you taught here about how one of the ways to procedurally mask materials is by targeting the denser areas of vertices with that bevel dot matrix stuff. the texture painting workflow was a relief to learn about though. great stuff as usual smeaf!

Good tutorial, but honestly the previous version looked better and more realistic. Why would the cartridge be rusty and burnt? Good attention to detail is great for realism, but adding unnecessary detail for the sake of it, has the opposite effect and makes models looks less realistic.

Man I gotta say, I hate your editing style, actually re-watch your tutorials and try to follow them. All these zooms and camera following the mouse and then cutting to gags. I get you're trying to be entertaining but functionally this is so hard to follow. Rewatch 4:00 - You've zoomed in so much - Camera following mouse - fast cuts - you suddenly start raising the bevel samples - then cutaway - then goes into gag - then goes into sponsored advert. (in the middle of explaining something......) - cut back and you've returned the bevel samples back to default?? - you've plugged the dot product value into something but have cut off what it is and skipped that part.... If I freeze at 6:16 i can see for a split second what you have ONE of the values plugged into but you've hidden the other. Why are you purposely making it so hard to see your node layout? - now add this node, add this node, add this node, add this node, add this node! - large text coming up over the screen obscuring what you're doing. - too make it even more challenging, you've added motion blur to every camera movement. (refer to 9:20) as if it's not hard enough to follow already, you're actively blurring the nodes. Hold on. What are we even plugging this all into, you always seem to cut off where you're nodes start and end. Like you are self-aware enough to know you're making it hard to follow, so why present it in that way. Zoom out. Slow Down. There needs to be a moment where you just show you're full node setup and then explain how you accomplished it.

@SafetyFirstToolFans.94
@SafetyFirstToolFans.94 Жыл бұрын
In one of hisother videos he mentions that when you're working with a client it's very dependent. So in some cases a company or individual might have a set of materials ready for you- or perhaps another comp/individual may expect you to be making them yourself. The key to finding out and also deciding if it is worth your efforts (or even something you can reasonably accomplish) is by asking them questions about what they are looking for and what they have. It also might help to offer them honest options based on what work you can do and what quality it could have in a given timeframe. Other times maybe they (or even YOU) have deadlines to meet. Questions (Fwiw I'm interested in knowing about that particular keyboard too though. Hah)
