Horror movie acting, when done right, is some of the best acting there is! The amount of physicality, emotional intensity and literal stress it takes to be a believable final girl, scream queen/king definitely needs to be recognized and respected by the Academy. Not to mention horror films are some of the most reliable money makers there are. 🖤 I'm skeptical about Smile 2 but I keep hearing good things so I'ma check it out soon.
@RM90855Ай бұрын
100% I also believe it’s one of the best opportunities to create amazing cinematography. Horror movies are so underrated. The fact that someone can make a movie scary JUST from the way it’s filmed is crazy

She reminded me of Sarah Michelle Gellar (I Know What You Did Last Summer) with her hair blonde like that. That movie was good but the twist was confusing and took a bit of the fun of rooting for someone’s survival out of it- like you said there was no yelling at the screen… it is what it is.
@ronnie3613Ай бұрын
I could see that, she also kinda reminded me of Florence Pugh with the blonde hair and short cut.

@MascaraManniquinАй бұрын
Yeah, I agree that other horror movies where they are up against a tangible killer, those ppl are brain dead. Lol tripping over nothing, running upstairs or into basements instead of out the front door. Leaving their car running so they can run on foot from said killer. The first Smile was creepy and I'm looking forward to seeing this one. It Follows is another one where only the protagonist sees the entity and I found that one unnerving as well. Thanks as always for your reviews.

What I like about the Smile movies is the undertone and message of the movies which I don’t think everyone sees and instead they just see it as a scary movie and nothing else. The first one definitely sends a message about trauma and mental health and how to tackle it in a healthy way. This one shed a really important light on celebrities and the amount of pressure they’re constantly under. I love these movies for that reason.

Spoilery ish, kinda sorta. I was still getting mad at this woman sometimes honestly. Not once did she turn to anyone and be like, "Hey, do you see that?" When some weird stuff was popping off(sure, whoever she asks could also be fake, but SHE don't know that). Towards the end though, the parasite whatever it is, was getting a little loose with the hallucinations and showing stuff that was very obviously not actually happening, so I appreciate that she would tell herself, "it's not real, it's not real".
@RhekonАй бұрын
Had to watch this right quick on Sunday night with the homie. It was such a fun experience trying to find out what was happening. 😂 I turned to my homie like "This shit is why I don't be putting my own music out there." Artists don't really need a monster to ruin their lives.

I just watched Smile 2 and .....my god is it creepy, confusing and adrenaline inducing. As you mentioned Tony, the acting is really good in this film. The main character went through a crazy range of emotions. As the movie progresses the scenes become so intense and uncomfortable. It seems as though this virus, which originally represents trauma and grief, has a personality in this one(??) If they make a Smile 3 I really hope they do a good job because the ending of this one can open the storyline in so many directions. I just know I cant take 5 equals of this film.

The next step up in horror movies genre is to have characters not do dumb stuff to move the plot forward. It’s too expected after all these years you see the dumb stuff leading to the demise of a character. Or a character that’s acts like a jerk so you can hope for their demise to come. It’s all expected routine.
