Smile 2 was even better, the extra $11 million on the production cost allowed them to do a whole lot more. And I’m glad that you guys mentioned lights out. I went into this movie blind and came out of the theater pleasantly surprised. This movie was the beginning of me avoiding trailers for future films I want to see.
@OfficialMediaKnights12 сағат бұрын
This is honestly so true, we both started staying away from trailers just because of how marketing lets down the true story by making it appear as something else entirely... And then the audience gets confused why they didn't get the movie the trailer pitched to them. Or even worse, they include a major reveal in the plot, in the trailer, eg. Abigail.

Yes, I did that with the movie Gravity too, makes the movie 10x better..

Entertaining reaction, as always. Smile is one of my favorite scary movies of the 2020's. Sure, it's pretty derivative, on paper, it's as if Ringu, It Follows and Hereditary had a baby together, BUT Parker Finn managed to make his own thing (and those terrific jump scares, as you said...). Scary movies that make the human mind the main source of horror are kinda rare. Smile 2 isn't as good because it's not as scary as the first one, but it's an interesting movie nonetheless because the main character is more compelling and she's played by a more charismatic actress (Naomi Scott deserves awards for her performance o__o), and her exhaustion is... well, exhausting.

I've watched this movie before & after watching the movie I did a research on that demon. It's called the Monstrosity aka The Smile Entity. To keep it short this demons main purpose is to torment it victims with their past trauma. What sucks is that there's no way of defeating it but people can escape for it however only way to escape it is inflicting trauma onto another person while they witness it
@dawidschaffrath84265 сағат бұрын

Love the reaction, it's such a fascinatingly weird premise that is both ridiculous and deeply disturbing. Lol the second film begins 6 days later :P it is even more unhinged than this. There is an image in the second film that has sat with me since I saw it, and, though not something that disturbs sleep or what have you, it's still one of the creepiest things I've seen for a while. Films about trauma seem to be very personal and visceral horror.

I love my sister but If she told me she was being haunted by an entity I would not believe her and think she was crazy

@OfficialMediaKnights We don't actually know.

Which is good, because the budget they had on this movie never would have allowed them to use CGI to render it and have it look anywhere near as good.

You should watch It Follows! It has a similar premise in that the “horror” follows you after you’re exposed to it and you have the ability to pass it on

so just to answer the question of what this thing is the director of the movie(Parker finn) doesnt give away too much info about the entity in this movie but all we know is that. it feeds on trauma of its victims till the point of terriozing them with creepy and disturbing hallucinations and illusions to drive the host into insanity to mentally break them so that they feel completely hopeless the monster has no confirmed or definitve name but behind the scenes of this film the director named the Entity/Demon Lolipop and another name for it was the monstrosity. but towards the end the Monster reveals its true form the different mouths mostly has been theorized and represented as the different Victims that the entity has taken for however long it has been around. one thing you might find interesting about this entity is that it can alter reality making someone think they are doing something when in reality they are doing something else entirely like the hostpial scene when rose stabs the patient it was all in her head because this entity can change and alter the reality of its victim to further mentally torture them. but i do hope you guys see smile 2 because theres alot more things that are creepy and disturbing in that one

I live in an old building in an old part of town, surrounded by old buildings. All the houses are occupied, its not a spooky place, but it is old. That being said, its a very quiet part of town, even though Im a few blocks from downtown in one of the largest cities in America. Watching this alone, I only got as far as her laying on the ground smiling. Nope. Nope. Nopety nope nope. So Im watching it for the first time with you two. Still freaky.

This movie has that really scary atmosphere that you can feel in Lovecraft's stories. You are being pursued by something inexplicable, inescapable, something that you cannot fight and deep down you know that you are already doomed. The goals and motives of this entity remain as much of a mystery as its origin. Perhaps this entity is from outer space. Perhaps from another universe. Perhaps the entity is millions of years old and has been doing its bloody work throughout human history. The movie does not give any explanation for what is happening, which makes it very realistic. In real life, if you encountered such a creature, you would also not know what it wants, what you should do and who to turn to for help (there is no one). PS: After this movie smiling people scare me a little.

i am the pickiest person when it comes to horror. nothing scares me EVER. when i saw this i remember a few thinghs, #1 was how the actress was acting her ass off, really good job, and #2 it was very uneasy and creepy. one of my fav horror movies
