The only information I can provide is that this song was recorded at De Lane Lea studios (where they’d record the De Lane Lea demos). Possibly from sometime between September 15th - 30th, 1969. Reduction mixes were likely created since De Lane Lea only had an 8 track analog tape recorder. A reduction mix is basically when you take all of the tracks in the mixing console, and place it into one. Credits: Producer: Fritz Freyer Vocals, Bass Guitar: Tim Staffell Guitars, Vocals: Brian May Drums, Backing Vocals: Roger Taylor Lead Vocals on April Lady: Brian May Lead Vocals on Polar Bear: Brian May and Tim Staffell Tracks also recorded amidst these sessions: Blag, and April Lady.

Does anyone know why Queen’s recording of Polar Bear is no longer on KZbin? Could it have something to do with the miracle box set?

Thanks a lot. Will you continue uploading the promo videos to queenzone?

Yes, slowly haha. Most of these audio videos I can upload in bulk and schedule them. Those QZ videos take a lot of time to remaster, put audio tracks and other things :)

Why was Tim was the lead singer when Brian and Roger both sang better? Thank God they found Freddie.

Nah, Tim's good enough. Better listen to 1984 - Step on me (take 1) and reconsider

Freddie singed it way better
@aaronw.16324 жыл бұрын
He really didn't. Fred's voice was certainly not what it would become, and Tim's influence on him as a singer was still very, very apparent. Freddie's lack of control killed their demo take on it, but it's hard to say *if* he could've bettered it if they kept working on it while he learned to reign in that voice, which was often mentioned as his "bleating sheep" voice by practically a lot of the people who knew him around that time period. Deaky's bass work, however, is definitely better.
