I gotta say, I think the Renaissance Men joke is my favorite in the series, and easily one of the most underrated. Right when you really start noticing the trend for the episodes to tie in an earlier gag into the ending, they hang a lampshade on it in the most blunt way possible. Amazing. One of the only times I’ve seen a show really sync a joke to its actual pacing as a season.

I guess I’m choosing this video to put out my thoughts on the Mr. Frog episode. When the fly mr. Frog eats appears later on as an actor it’s also revealed that Mr Frog didn’t eat him before, just put him in his mouth. But when Mr. Frog gets cancelled, its for doing that very same thing, putting someone in his mouth. But he didn’t eat them. Flashfoward to the end of the episode and Mr. Frog regains his popularity by ACTUALLY eating his manager or agent or whatever. I think that’s an interesting thing to think about, we were thinking he was cancelled because he attacked somebody, but no he was cancelled because he didn’t follow through and eat the TMZ guy. Not sure exactly what lesson we can gleam from this, but it’s a fun thought nonetheless

i really feel bad for charlie in the season finale. one would expect charlie to be the scrooge of the episode and hate christmas but he really isn't acting any differently. he's honestly being pretty reasonable. even in his death, he wasn't doing anything wrong. he was being snarky but it was warranted. it was pretty funny though that one frame the tree's falling on him and the next he's just a pile of gore.
@DeepEye19942 жыл бұрын
Though he loses points for me when he gets all pissy and unreasonable towards Pim sayin "See, only YOU care, it only affects YOU so I can keep doing it, I dont have to CONFORM to your cheery mood!" if he just kept it at being bummed about having to work on Christmaa Eve that would've been ok. But instead he got on the offense and be a jerkoff.

@@DeepEye1994 i guess but pim was being really confrontational for no real reason. charlie wasn't acting any differently and pim was acting like charlie was being moody
@DeepEye19942 жыл бұрын
@@JaxontheOkay "Charlie wasn't acting any differently" yes, Pim even says it "It seems like you're _often_ in this mood, like it's not a one-off thing, it's like you're always like this..." And then: "It's every job we do you never want to do anything and _sometimes_ it gets a bit exhausting, that's all I'm saying!" he says it with the down-to-earth modesty of a friend, he wasn't being "really confrontational"? And Charlie doesn't really give an answer to that last point, he just gets more irrationally pissy and "Well what if I did it to you!!" arguments to avoid looking at himself. It's all meant to nicely be reflected with Charlie confronting Satan in the end. Charlie speaks honestly about Satan's life and how his mood is making him go in circles, and instead of being reflective Satan just gets super mad at him. I've been in Charlie's place, and sometimes I've been in Pim's place. And it's really annoying when the person doesn't listen and just goes nuclear, it's like talking to a wall. But I can kinda get both sides. I guess I don't like when someone FULLY sides with one. Like, no, I don't want to justify myself when I'm moody and get pissy at people who are sick of my shit, I don't do it out of malice, but afterwards when it passes and I feel better, I'm not proud of how I behaved and wish I could've avoided being hostile at the very least.

@@DeepEye1994 i think we can agree that neither of them were being very nice. i was exagerating a bit about pim being "very" confrontational, but to me it did feel like pim was trying to stir something up. pim has been known to act a little strangely at times such as in the enchanted forest episode. but you are right. charlie certainly isn't always a big help during their jobs. i would really like to know why he chose smiling friends to begin with. i hope zach and michael explain their backstories a bit more because all we really know about charlie is that his uncle got into several car accidents lol. so yeah neither of them were being great but i'm leaning a bit more on charlie's side personally.

I like how 3 of the deaths were at the very least indirectly caused by Pim, and yet somehow they all lead to the client smiling in the end. The tree demon getting eaten, Mip getting pushed into the spear, and Charlie chopping down the tree.

The fact that less people died in this show than in a single episode of the clone wars makes me question humanity

1:41 Actually the Knights Templar only part of the Renaissance for merely 12 years before being disbanded so calling them "Renaissance men" is quite the stretch.

Something I find funny is that in the Christmas special, you see a bunch of Bliblies in hell because Desmond’s Bliblie Control killed them all.
