I think using pacifica as an example lowkey exemplifies a misunderstanding of her character. She doesnt have main character syndrome, she’s a sheltered rich kid who’s learning her place and how to get along with the rest of the world - trying to escape her family’s legacy and be her own person, while also having a hard time putting down that nameplate. this is neither a cartoon nor a very similar archetype to these characters but Vergil from Devil May Cry. Even just mentioning him causes him to steal the show, let alone when he’s on screen. He’s a total dick but everyone loves him. He just has such a presence to him. And to the “hero of his own story” point, he’s incredibly similar to the main character, his twin brother Dante. White hair, cool sword, similar moveset, he even kills a boss you couldn’t finish off and takes its Devil Arm, something you’ve been doing the entire game. And of course, their personalities mirror each other. Dante’s more of a rambunctious, rebellious, showboating kind of cool, whereas Vergil is more reserved, precise, smug, and sophisticated. Dante is a rebel without a cause, but motivation may as well be Vergil’s middle name. Their similarities highlight their differences, and vice versa. oh wait he isn’t a side character he’s the big bad. nevermind then. uhh Jetstream Sam then.
