Aloha from Hawaii 🌴 Loved lunch in the mountains. I’m retired, so when my husband comes home from work he’ll ask what I did for the day, I love telling him where I went… Lunch in the mountains in Tokyo AND the Venice of Japan Ine Kyoto!

The thing I miss the most about Japan is experiences like eating in an interesting place or finding something while exploring the city or countryside. Tourist stuff is great and all but its the more intimate moments that really make Japan stand out to me.

This was an absolutely gorgeous walk Shinichi. I love the mountains and trees especially in autumn when the leaves are changing and this video didn't disappoint on the beauty of nature. Then you found that cute little tea house. What a treat for you guys, that food looked delicious. And I was feeling for you on those stairs (that was alot of stairs) but worth it in the end.🏯😊

This hike is so beautiful. Love seeing the momiji. I climbed that many steps in my twenties or thirties. Today, I would stop and rest like those people sitting on the bench. I'd use that as an excuse to stay at a ryokan there. That way I could go at own pace. Your meal looked amazing. Do you think the two you would spend a couple of days there the future? Thank you sharing this and the walking for me. 😁

I loved it! Beautiful place. I think you had the best choice for lunch. The food was beautiful. I would have been happy with just the soup! I had sympathetic legs with you when the stairs were just never ending! Lol. I do wish you would have a small simple breakfast. At least an egg and toast. Will preserve good blood sugar levels thru life, as well as the day.

Wow, beautiful place! The hike reminds me of Muir Woods. But wow, soooooo many stairs! Yoku yatta! The food, omg, I imagining how it must taste. Beautiful thatched buildings. I'm also glad you pointed the camera up...so beautiful! My Momiji trees are confused this year...part red, part green, due to our temps. XOXO

What a magical, gorgeous place! And of course you found the hidden gem in which to have your meal. I was fascinated by the village perched on the mountainside. All I could think of was how fit those people must be walking up and down hills all day. 😊 I love to hike. In fact, the first trip I had planned to Japan was an "adventure tour" in which you hiked from one monastery to another in the mountains of Japan. Sadly, I didn't get to do that. But your video gave me a taste of what it might have been like. Thanks, guys! ❤️❤️

I'm not a hiker so I'll be out of breath climbing those steps. I guess I have to go back to long walks to build up my endurance like when I was in my early teenage years. I use to walk all over town and bicycle.
@margaretcopeland10553 жыл бұрын
So glad you guys are getting a "beauty break" - lifts the soul. I'm not a fan of heights so I can relate to that. Walking or run ing downhill can be hard on the shins, ankles, and knees. As far as being steady on a rocky path, the more you do it the better you get. I have light weight hiking poles that fold up and when I'm uncertain of the terrain I use one or two. I didn't see anybody in your video using them, must not be the thing to do in Japan.
