I'm so happy you're back in Okinawa ❣I was born in Naha, 1958. My mama had a karaoke bar in Naha . Her name is Machiko Yamashita, my beautiful mama. She passed in 2019.😿 Going home to Okinawa is #1 on my bucket list. Domo Arigatou, Shinichi san 💜I love you and Satoshi. Watch you every day.

My son was stationed in Okinawa and participated in the tug-of-war. He was also an extra in two movies that were filmed there. When he first joined the Air Force, he was thinking of putting a request for a base that was close to home (in the US). I told him , "Are you crazy? Put in some place exciting. Some place exotic. Go to Japan!" . And he got Okinawa and he loved it there.

This is definitly my favorite type of video : exploring small and unknown places with lots of different styles. The shotengai has a strong 80-90's feeling, some kind of slow decay and poetry to it.

Loved this...calm and relaxing atmosphere. The quaint and quiet surroundings are a nice change of pace from the shiny crowded streets of Tokyo. I should take some long early morning walks myself.

Hi Shinichi from Pompano Beach, Florida. The flower with the tiny purple flowers growing off the main plant is called porter's weed. I grow it all over my boarders in my yard. If you pass it again, look for a long shoot that has already turned grayish brown, it has completed the flowering process and you can pick it off and it is full of seeds. Take it home. Crumble it and get the seeds and plant them in a pot snd they grow quickly. They will look lovely on your balcony.

I have to agree, this area is so interesting I didn't know it is the home of tug of war , how wonderful. This is going to be an exciting series Shinichi beautiful Okinawa I can't wait to see more.💚👍

Hey Shinichi, greetings from Florida! I've been to Okinawa twice in the past few years visiting my friends who used to live there! I totally recommend you visit as many old historic castle ruins around the prefecture, as well as all the waterfalls tucked away in the hills and forests. I think it would make great content for your videos and people would love to see how beautiful the nature side of Japan can be! Also, the gorgeous clear water and reefs like Maeda point!

That plane sounded like a jet from a military base. Were you close to the US base? The music sounded religious. And the plumeria is beautiful! I'm like you when I walk in a new place, I like to look around a lot. Luckily, so does my husband. It takes long time to get places. I think that is one cat that keeps following you around. 😊 Thanks for the great video.

Such an unbelievable amount of graffiti and grime. Makes me sad. I live beside a military base and it looks the same. They've poisoned the drinking water here and in Okinawa, vandalize historical structures, make a mess and a lot of noise...sigh...it's so much different on that island than anywhere else around Japan.
