Shinichi, glad you were able to spend some great quality time with your mom and sister!! The weather this month in okinawa has really been much cooler than usual. Also the rainy season which usually starts around May 7th or so hasn't given us too much rain so far. Maybe a couple of days. We do have a tropical storm coming this weekend. Take care!

Hello from, England. I am sure you have loved having your mum to visit. Make the most of it while you can. I can understand the dynamic between your mum and sister I bet they are very alike. That was how things were between my mum and I, and they get very set in their routines. You must find things to laugh about. I am sure your mum misses you, but we raise our children to make their way in the world and to fly, and if they do, we did our job right. Love your videos they are gentle and you are a lovely couple ❤😊

I will definiteky look for those 2 shops. I make sure I try the cheese cake in every country I visit. Or the closest version of it. My favourites are The San Sebastián Cheesecake in * - Turkiye and Matcha chocolate cheese cake at Narita Airport Japan. * - Yes that is how you spell it now : )

Wife and I just got back from Japan a few days ago. 4 nights in Shinjuku, 4 in Kyoto, 1 in Osaka. Day trips to Asakusa, Shibuya and Harajuku. Many interesting and fun things to see but most of all, we remember the nice people. When they learned I could speak a little Nihongo, they became animated and very friendly and talkative. I relished it. Thank you Japan. My wife is already wondering when we may return for Round 2! 👍

I’m very glad to hear Natchan was able to go to Shizuoka and re-visit some of her childhood memories! You know I have the same type of relationship with my Mother who is of the similar generation with your mother. The mother-daughter dynamic is a difficult and delicate one in which at times is trying for me since she can be very opinionated at everything I do. I am very proud of Natchan too! Btw, when my daughter and I went to Japan in February there was already a line for the Sawamura restaurant 40 mins BEFORE opening on a weekday! We thought it was the line to buy bread but no it was for the restaurant. We didn’t have time to eat there since we needed to take the bus but apparently the restaurant is very popular!

That is the area the Christmas light are in winter right? Though I like fukujin zuke I always eat rakkyo with my curry. I just love rakkyo. Yes the salted lychee is delicious! They have an undilluted version in the supermarket so you can mix it at home.

Dean & Deluca - marvelous. (Ever get to the one in downtown NYC? Closed now). Shinichi, consider a good sun blocking hat - it'll help. (There are some better looking options. Solumbra is a solid company, but there must be others, maybe even chicer (?).) Always enjoy trotting around, hang'n with you both, *mom adds even more tenderness , and a subtle sense of who you are. Dude in that weather please wear a hat, and drink water lots of water cos you walk so much. Don’t get heat stroke, the heat saps your energy so badly. Refill your electrolytes please. Hydrate and look after yourself we love you so much. Love to satoshi as well.

Atsui desu ne… wear all white- t-shirt & shorts when it’s hot outside and wear a wide brim 👒 hat. I was there back in 2009 & that area was still under construction. I stayed at the Century hotel. It was hot then too… too much concrete and with climate change Tokyo is going to be an inferno hot hell mess in the summertime.
