I always wondered what Anubis could have been if his AoE ability was added a jump, the AoE effect would immediatly apply on his arrival point with him opening the portal by smashing his staff on the ground. Sounds to me like it would give this ability way more importance between keeping it for escape or engaging the fight.

As an Anubis main, that sounds both fun but also terrifying. I usually build Anubis focusing damage and lifesteal but I rely on his AoE as a ranged attack since I sometimes find myself to be squishy to others. Sometimes the lifesteal helps me survive the fray if I’m in the thick of it. The AoE also for me, serves as a decent lane poke, and I won’t wanna jump out into the lane for that. I could see how it could feel trying to escape with it though.

@@AV524 Another thing I thought about since they wanted a rework of the stun : instead of that, the strips upon reaching a player would interrupt him (so not stun but all movement and actions are stopped) then progressively return his movement speed on 1,5 to 2s. The extra to it ? The strips would spread to other close players, so your enemy teammates won't want to stay grouped.

I really love that you're all cutting down on the CC amounts in smite, some games become nigh unplayable with the amount everyone has. but I agree that some characters still really need it, im really optimistic for smite 2 and trust you all to be able to put your years of experience to good use

Surprised they didn’t make Anubis’ wraps act as an aoe slow after hitting their target. Like the linen of the wraps are draping on the ground around the stunned target slowing enemies who walk through it. Could help with Anubis’ weak escape with the bonus of his third ability hitting more people if they walk through it

Ya idk why everyone in the comments are saying to buff him more. Wrap that travels far and pretty fast that’ll last for 2 seconds + an aoe slow that lasts for 2 seconds and slows by 25%. On top of his passive which will heal him more if he has lifestel (pretty much guaranteed) AND shreds protections. All that and people are still complaining about his movement like he doesn’t instakill squishies with minimum to no effort.

Anubis needs a slow and for people not able to use movement abilities on his 3 like posiedon gets with his whirpool. I mean just about every character has a movement ability now and anubis who doesn't have that and is one of if not the slowest needs something that can potentially increase his survivability.

I'm worried about the amount of particle effects.. Smite 1 already has so many of them and sometimes you can't see what's happening in teamfights. Seems like S2 has even more of that. Visual clarity needs to be addressed, especially for a competitive game like this.
