Explaining the meaning of Leagues / Ranked God Borders / Frames in the context of Smite Ranked. Generally, very little is known about how these actually get generated and this video's purpose to explain what is known as best as possible.

Duke can you please do a video on sprint and how it interacts with perpetual slows. It hasn't been picked up a lot now that it no longer gives slow immunity only purifies them(it was grabbed a few times this LAN). The question I have is if you get ulted by cupid will sprint cleanse the slow only to reapply it or will you maintain the speed. I personally feel that sprint in its current state is wholly underwhelming.

Sprint cleanses the slow from cupid ult, it won't reapply.

In the case of cupid ult the slow is only ever applied once, however Anubis slow which hits multiple times will renew the slow.

Another key point is that the initial win streak is HIGHLY weighted. The top of the leaderboards are filled with players that go 5-0 or 7-0 on the god instead of players that have a great W:L ratio but since they have played the god a lot, they also have some losses. The system seems to favor playing the god for only 5 times or so, and then never touching the god again.

also, keep in mind, the quality of your opponent matter, so bronze players won't go on a 10-0 streak against crap players and be masters while you play in masters and go against other qualified masters and get plat. it's your opponent god ranked overall. nshadow almost exclusively plays against other master border gods, so going 4-1 is different for him instead of going 4-1 against plat or unranked gods

The diamond rank between masters actually does make sense. The way the scoring on ELO is you can make masters, then go below the threshhold on it(as seen by if ya make diamond, then lose tribute points when at 0, ya can stay in diamond). it means the one in masters lost score, while still not falling into diamond, yet the one in diamond gained score without yet reaching the master's threshhold. CoC uses the same system to prevent people quickly jumping between leagues due to 1 or 2 wins/losses

I think borders are indicator to extent but still not too much.For example it doesn't take in consideration matchup..funkbot maybe didn't have best performance but zhong kui is not that strong in duel and when he is paired up vs anhur there is not much he can do.

I think the actual number rank is pretty messed up but the cutoffs between frame tiers tells a bit of a story in terms of how good the player is with a god or rather how often they win as them (which is heavily influenced by their team). I think it is likely that somebody with a gold border is not as good as someone with a masters border.

yes it is because the diamond frame is what you get after exactly 15 winss. if you're talking about the master frame then thats another thing altogether, its a much higher streak but i don't know how much wins you need to get since i've never had one

Been playing ps4 console smite since it came out. I dont know why people are saying pc and xbox are basically masters at the game. I've been playing on smite pc and these are like mega idiots like auto lock, cuss you out cause you're getting mad at them type idiots. Dont listen to team comp. In almost level 30 too like where are the damn smurfs when you need them Id rather play skilled players than people who dont say roles and people who auto lock then cuss you out in different languages👌🏼 So all of the people saying console players suck ass cause pc had it longer is just a damn lie. Schoko Brownie Lmao you're good bro, I just hate always hearing Ps4 players are bad and xbox players are better than them, but pc is the best like create a new account and run through each of the platforms. You'll get the same stuff just using a different controller for your character. I had a guy auto lock loki after I called jungle and he basically kept saying "you mad?" So I played susano mid and stole all his gank kills. then he didnt get a kill and left the game. sadly we lost cause 3 people dc'd but I enjoyed myself.

This explains a lot I did my duel qualifiers and i played baka 4 times, got placed in diamond 2, won a game with baka again And now with a 5-0 baka streak thinks im a masters bakasura in duel This vid kinda explains it, but its still weird I have a friend who is a diamond kali in duel but he is actually trash at the game, he is in bronze 4 I believe So however this thing works, it doesnt always prove your skill wih a god Great vid btw 👍🏼

Camazotz, is tanky? Not sure why you would say that when his health and defenses are no higher than other assassins I play him a lot and don't feel remotely tanky even with some defense. His healing does make him survivable though.

hey DukeSloth could you please make a beginners guide on some basic things like whats the numbers and symbols on the characters in the loading screen before a match begins or if I should start the game by trying out as many gods as possible or just take one and master him or what's the vest way to get gems and gold or what to spend it on just things like that just talk about everything that you can't just make a whole video about just some basic stuff and throw it all together it would be soooo nice cause I really don't get the numbers and stats in the loading screen and that stuff thatnks :)

Hey duke I play smite on console and I noticed a new cabraken skin called " face crusher" I think it might be a ranked season reward because it says limited on it. Also could you do a video on "whatever happened to cabraken?" I feel like I see him more now then in season 3.

It depends on what players you beat if they have higher elo (you beat for example Masters) you get placed higher, if you beat lower people you'll only get a play border for example.

That's why you see people with 6/0 being on top and people who have 100+ wins and some losses lower, because they win against bots most of the time

Strange I don't recall ever seeing platinum/diamond/whatever borders in loading screens. To be fair, in this game you can buy really flashy weird loading screens which kinda make any other loading screen information go unnoticed.

clickhead they are not borders in the loading frame you can see the borders in the gods selection around the gods .

I feel like Hi-Rez implemented this poorly. They have too much secrecy on how it works, you should be able to see how to get a good border. Its glitchy. They didn't test it enough. Also you get brought down by your team, I had a plat hou yi and now he is only gold because I was playing him in higher ranked games and did really well. But, then it started putting me in lower ranked games. I continued to play Hou Yi but because I had no teammates I couldn't kill all five people on the enemy team, so we would lose fights. This in turn ruined my "k/d" and it demoted me for the incompetence of my teammates.

I'm sure somebody else already said this but the reason somebody can be 4 and 1 and be above 6 and 0 is because the 4 and 1 locked that position in first and never played again to be replaced

the placement of a player needs to have a high influence... if i go into gold, pick any good and win 50 games to 0 there that actually doesnt mean i am good, if a master starts a good and goes lets say 10:5 he probably is the better player and needs to be placed above me, i think its good that the overall ELO (what i ignore here is that ELO can be weird) is a very important factor here. lets go to conquest, if i have 10 times a 16:0 against high ELO players but my team looses, why should i be worse placed then a low tier player that wins 20 games with a very bad performance but he got carried. I agree that for duel it is a bit weirder and the ranking there is a bit wonkyer then for joust or conquest, but think that the factoring should be in this order: Player rank (since that decides the level of your opponents) Performance (nuf said) win/loose (since i think those borders are balanced around conquest and depending on your team you can win alot with a character you are bad on or loose with one you are good on) if you dont share this opinion i would like to have a discussion here but i seriously disagree with this video. Ps: Dukesloth i am a huge fan of your work and a lot of the videos you made helped me so much getting better, last sesason i was a bad Silver player and right now i am getting into diamond and i think that a lot of my improvement goes back to you, thank you so much.

since mastery only tells sth about time played ( and not even that precisely with boosters double events and so on) its posible that you are really good ( as ur border tells) even though you havent played him a lot ( as the masterie tells you)

Yeah I'm in Diamond 4 in duel and am 13-4 with erlang. its just weird as I have never played him beforehand. (I mastered him when he came out and didn't play him since I placed in duel) As for your Awilix, you sound like you deserve that border xD

I got a second lower lvl account which i wanted to see how high i can get in ranked starting from now on. I did 5/10 duel games so far , won 2 with freya the day after her rework, i got no god border for her, but i got a diamond Border around my profile avatar. Pretty strange , because i never placed somewhere before, neither have i placed yet.

ya i played Chang'e in ranked with my qualifiers and did kinda eh with her where i usually do very well as they had just messed up my build as they do and i got a diamond frame but only Silver I as my rank in joust it makes me think that overall god stats play a role as my KDA with chang'e is very high and it may be that they take that into account when doing these ranks which imo they shouldnt

started ranked for s4 and i am so getting stuck in bronze currently 1:6 the 6 losses were even close and i done somewhat well or got stuck team mates that did not click well, but thats ok what annoyed me was the hi res severs messed up half way though giving unplayable rubber banding and average of 500~600 ping flux with 800 spikes :C even calls were delay 3 seconds rip severs for 2 of my ranked so vvgs. username monkwer23 , role, -support, game mode joust. TLDR : going 1:6 fml highres fucked me on 2 of those others were close i can see the bronze gates of hell closing in.

you cant compare plat games to masters or high tier diamond games. Although maybe in s4 you can but tbh the rankings make sense idgaf if you can play rat vs average players and win 13 of them but if you win 4 against actual good players which probably wasnt even the case here since S4 is wack you deserve to be placed higher.

In my opinion, these borders are stupid. They are given based on win rate that are very inconsistent. Meaning if you've won 5 games in a row for the first time in any ranked queue and stop playing that God from now on, you'll be able to keep the border indefinitely.
