I'm going to need some actual numbers, Duke. Numbers on the amount of damage you'll do, health you'll get, mana you'll get, how badly it delays you, etc... You don't substantially support many of your claims.

I have ran the numbers, if they had any additional value/relevance, I'd add them. For example, with full build a 3+4 on Kukul does 2,4XX dmg with Thoth and 2,4XX with Deso. You can run the numbers yourself in Krettcalc if you don't believe me. Could I have added those numbers to the video? Sure. Would it have changed anything about the content? No. If I was looking to mislead you, I could just as easily put wrong numbers. Health doesn't change with any item but Warlock's (which I don't recommend against building) and mana is pretty irrelevant in a lategame focused build (only the damage through mana from Thoth matters). How badly it delays you is nothing you can put in numbers because it depends on lane dominance etc. At this point, it should be established that I do my numbers right, even if I don't put screenshots in the vid every time. These are not claims, they are facts that can be checked back on by everyone who wants to, Krettcalc is publicly available.

Depends on how you wanna build it. If you double stack much earlier, your power curve is much weaker earlygame. If you actually build Thoth and Deso at the same time, Thoth is still unstacked, meaning it will be slightly below its final power. By the time you reach full stacks, you should've long been able to afford Deso, which is overall a much better lategame item.

You forgot to mention the rule of if you're behind, you probably shouldn't stack. I watched someone try and build Doom Orb after dying 5 times. I don't think he ever got full stacks on that thing in the entire match..

I found in Clash games as a mage; if you build Book of Thoth first it gives you the necessary power to get through if you build War-Sash next, which will in return compliment the book. Obviously there's lots of combo's which require the right situation though, gotta choose if you want stack, pen or def. Kuku definitely works with double stacks building Book first, from experience.

if you have soulstone, shoes, stacked sash, shard, and rod an unstacked book adds 187 power for 2650. The question is simply whether that power is worth more than the secondary effects of competing 5th/6th items. the 28 power from rod amped "double stacking" on book is largely irrelevant. If you want utility you get the utility (slow, antiheal, defense, cdr) so there are only 2 competing items: soul reaver and spear of desolation. Soul reaver is 125 power + passive, 300 more gold . if the scaling on your dmg combo is ~250%, unstacked book adds ~150 unmitigated dmg relative to soul reaver's 10% hp on a 40s cd. Book scales w/ # of targets hit, reaver doesnt. when book is stacked it will typically do more dmg more often even vs a single target if you hit 3 abilities until hp gets around 2.5k. Spear is 150 power. 20 pen, passive. +1150 gold. 20 flat pen from spear will do more than book's power, especially vs squishies. But it costs significantly more. If you look at the numbers (unstacked) book has clear benefits over reaver and is significantly more cost effective than spear. The argument against "double stacking" is really just an argument against sash or stacking sash + book in tandem. Given sash, book is relatively more attractive late game and competes w/ the other pure dmg options just fine.

Sash WILL hurt your damage curve a lot so if you go sash you're playing for the lategame.The reason I say this is because not only does it take quite a bit of time to fully stack,but sash primarily gives you health and secondarily gives you power so it's for when you know you're going to get focused or you're up against a team that's better than yours so you feel like relying on your positioning and on your frontliners' peel alone isn't going to be enough to keep you alive. Luckily for Vulcan he can play for the earlygame or the lategame so you have more flexibility with builds. TL;DR Book if you want early damage,Sash if you want better team fights late game.

Stephine Besa I don't like Chang'e tbh, but the main reason she isn't very used in the SPL it's because she needs to be close to the enemy to make an impact in the game, so I think that with gem you will be safer in the frontline.

For other modes maybe but not in conquest. You're already starting off at an early game disadvantage against more bursty mages due to the lack of early game clear. If you double stack with those 3 you're going to come online even later in the game, so you're likely losing the mid harpy fights and the GF. Also getting CDR is a priority on those healers, they all have some form of cleanse which are their main means of escape.

double stacking works especially well with Kukulkan. I wouldn't really build him any other way because he just gets such a crazy power spike from Warlocks and Thoth, it's hard not to go for them because he gets 5% of his mana as power, then thoth gives him an extra 3.5%, and warlocks gives 400 mana, so right there, that's 192 power with just 2 items, not to mention the rest of his mana, plus the survivability of warlocks. it's hard to not build on Kuku

I build double stacking on Kukulkan to make up for his lack of escape and survivability. He fails to see the benefit of a 3k hp kukulkan who can build rod of tahuti AND ethereal staff getting benefits from both his own mana and a high healthpool. While he does lack some protections it also allows him to have an impressively high number of power so he can not only survive but allow himself to deal the damage and survive. If dukesloth would acknowledge this point other than "its a waste on kukulkan cuz you get online it would be appreciated specially since we all know kukulkan is extremely vulnerable to being killed early

I always double stack in arena with my mages and it works just fine, it's excepcionally good in Kukulkan, at the late game, he has 800 power with five items online. That's is more than other mages with full build. Also, if made in the right order, double stacking brings a monstrous power spike in the early to mid game, Warlocks and cooldown boots work amazingly well with Book of Thoth, after a few stacks on the Warlocks and boots, when you finish Thoth, you go from ~150 to ~300 power.

Double stacking depends a lot on your team comp (don't double stack if you don't have a warrior/guardian in your team on joust for exemple. The mage would be needed to do enough damages early to keep ennemies at bay) and your god, so just experience, try things and see what works for your playstyle, just don't think of it like a go-to build

i find myself doing good double stacking with my hunter and mage mains ah muzen cab and zhong kui (with AMC being my primary main). ah muzen cabs hive supports my need for speed and attack speed and his passive helps out in boxing. also his swarm helps with collecting stacks. afterwords i boost my attack speed, add a bit of crit, get a little extra defense with shifters shield and become a machine gunner auto debuffer (using the two attack speed items that decrease a opponents attack and defense on auto hits whose names i cannot recall of the top of my head) zhong kui already stacks on his passive which i could then use as my defense. also his 1 then 2 combo at a sufficient level can obliterate minions to provide for those stacks on top of his natural defense stack.

I’ve always done book of Thoth and Warlocks staff on Aphro and never had any issues. I’m not sure if it’s because we are in season 5 now, but even then back in season 4 I did it and didn’t have any issues. The only time I’d only stack one is in solo lane I’d only get warlock in solo lane.

Not sure, but I think it's because you loose access to alt with you thumb (you have a nice spacebar you could already use, but alt get totally out of position). And esdf doesn't really let u use "w", and cap, cap lock and ctrl become a bit harder to use. Personally, I ain't very precise with my little finger so I prefer having bigger keys under it. Probably the same for most people. (and some laptop users may have a problem having the tutchpad right under their hand)

Sometimes for a dangerous early Apollo I buy second tier of Demon Wind straight away, I reminded that when I saw the hunter items, and I guess I don't even use stacks on him most of the time. That about hunters, now about mages, Sash is a good item that gives and insane amount of health when full stacked, but I'd recommend it only for mages that have no hability that makes scape easier like Vulcan, for the others (Like Kukulkan, Scylla...) Thoth is a better idea I guess, so you get more damage.

If you're playing as a pusher (Objective killer) stacking is essential. You will spend most of your time in solo lane either way, and the stacking items are really cheap compared to any other items. And as for penetration (the only thing needed for objectives besides power) titans bane/obsidian shard is the only good item for objectives, because flat pen is pretty much useless against them. I see my main role in smite as a pusher, so I can confirm that double stacking + titans bane is the only way to go and that it's not useless.

The funny thing about hunters is that Asi beats Devourer's Gauntlet in both DPS and ability damage. As for mages, personally, I often buy Book of Thoth last for the power spike alone and because I don't want to wait on Spear of Desolation, some cases Gem of Isolation might be better. To note, though, the modes I play are often fast paced, so often me buying Sash first isn't a huge problem, Conquest, on the other hand, isn't really fast paced and it takes longer to get to items, which at that point I'd think you need to change your build plan.

Another reason not to stack imo that most people forget... Sash and Thoth are both expensive items, early game it's hard to get that much gold, then you actually have to go through the time to stack it on top of that. Trans has the same problem imo. The only person I ever double stack on is hades his clear is pretty insane so he gets the stacks early as well as the gold.

Being ahead factors alot in if you should consider double stacking. If you're ahead you won't hurt your middle game since you're already ahead. You can farm stacks easier because of the kills u can easily get etc.. It's mostly situational but it doesn't always work

Probably because pro are supposed to have a guy good at math behind them during matches telling them what to build. What people don't always understand is that it depends on a lot of factors, and a greedy build like double stacking shouldn't be a go to build, but one you do when you're sure of what you're doing

This is all based around the conquest game mode as it takes alot longer to get gold in this mode and you need starters for more early game power. If your not a conquest player gold isn't an issue so you don't have a problem getting to your full build by end of the game. I main mages in joust and I watch my positioning so Im not worried about boots until my third item I don't recommend this as it is very risky if you don't watch your positioning you WILL die. I build warlock sash first, then book of thoth then boots by the time im ready for book of thoth im normally 25 stacks or more into sash granted most of the mages I play have a movement ability such as Kuku speed boost, Ra's passive, Poseidon's passive etc so these help me out alot in terms of correcting positioning. For hunters I never double stack not because it takes longer I just dont use gauntlet in many of my builds.

I guess I can kind of see the point here? I've never personally had a problem with double stacking on my Cupid (Transcendence 2nd item and Soul Gem 4th item) Since it's pretty easy for me to Lane clear once I get my 3rd item as well transcendence builds quickly enough and then Soul Gem just builds practically on it's own past that. Both of them are normally at max stacks before halfway into the Joust.

the only exception i can think of is a hades against a mostly immobile character in solo, while their jungle isn't a scary character. that way you can skip boots and stack those two items and by mid game you're destroying. i don't think this is actually a good idea but it is very fun

lets see, people always seem to forget the other effects of stacking items... say kuku, you get book because of his own passive benefiting from the extra mana per stack. you get a warlocks not to stack it but for the large mana it gives at base purchase and its eventual gain in damage while making him slightly tankier late game. on ullr you always need transcendence as quickly as possible otherwise you will never have the mana to do anything for any extended amount of time, where as with the numbers, dev gauntlet gives you the highest percentage lifesteal even if it doesnt give the highest amount of damage among the lifesteal items.

What do you think about going full power double stacking no pen for HEALERS. I usually never get pen items on Aphrodite for example, and just focus on getting lots of power to make the heals stronger instead of the damage.

Your 2 only has 60% scaling so pen bumps up the damage by a large amount. It's one of her best clean up skills so I would recommend building pen on her. I build pen boots and spear of the magus

I normally build shas and toth's book with kkk, I mean it gives me a stupid amount of health and a stupid amount of dmg aswell, I also buy desolation with this. Having 2500 hp and more than 900 magic power at end game makes me a stupid killing machine. Of course you can build another items, but I really dont need other items, that build is full late, but Im not exactly useless in the early or mid game, in fact I normally do a great job on this stages of the game. I like that build, and I understand that not everyone would like it but, it's pretty good.

I never double stack ever, and my only reason is because is sounds very silly and ineffective. Like you said, you're basically taking up a slot for a potentially better item. The only exception I ever had is that I build Warlock's Sash and Hide of the Urchin together on Hades and Zhong Kui. And even then, I myself don't even count Urchin as a stacking item. Anyways, it's nice that you made this video, because a lot of people don't seem to understand. I always try to help people with their builds, and they just shove me off and call me a dumbass or something. But hey, whatever, i'll take the advantage any day. However, when you break it down, there are those very very few gods you can get away with double stacking effectively. And even then, would never recommend it. Double stacking no bueno, but triple stacking OP, tho.

Double stacking is simply way too time consuming imo, if I do decide to build stacks it's either always going to be the 2nd or 3rd item otherwise I just don't have time for it. I'll then build pen and what I do after that depends on the mage really, but if I want power I find it better to build either Rod of Tahuti or Spear of Desolation.

I cant agree with you, +600 HP let you survive many situations which may depend on winning or losing late game. Like you said build Warlock first and then Thoth, even at 0 stacks that give you around 130-140 power. Pen Boots, 2x Stack items and you already hit like truck even without any penetrations, 4th item Obsidian/Spear and you are fully online. Its true that you lose early game for your late, but not so drastically not mention about early HP/MP very important for a mid laner.

This only applies too conquest as a heads up, double stacking is very valuable for mages in joust, atleast the ones that can clear.

as long as your the only one stacking otherwise it may take longer to get them stacks. :P i usually let my carry get there's first. when they recall i grab a wave or two and once they done i let them focus all abilities on enemy team while i finish mine

I have been doing pen boots + thoth + ob shard + rod + soul reaver + poly for kuku in clash lately and it has worked great. Pretty sure its slightly over 900 power as well.

I do thoth/boots/sash/spear or obsidian depending on my group comp/rod/gem of iso and it works fantastically. I know obsidian does more in terms of raw pen but I like spear if I have other magic dps in my group like freya or sol or chronos.

I don't think Kukulkan needs extra health from Sash because if you're in a dangerous situation, you can use his 2 and run away (and put a tornado over yourself if necessary), but Thoth alone is good enough. Instead of Sash you can use Poly, that item works wonderfully with Kukulkan. My Kukulkan build is usually CD Boots + Thoth + Chronos Pendant + Poly + Isolation + Tahuti. The low cooldown allows me to almost spam the habilities, and so the tornadoes rule the battle field, and my damage isn't low if you're wondering that, everything still deals decent damage thanks to his passive.

You are saying it takes it long to get online and then compare it to spear of desolation, which is the most expensive item in the game and takes the longest to get online because of the big difference between tier two and three, same with rod - with both tier two's not being great

To me, double stacking is powerful, however, the major reason that it inst popular, IMO is because it isn't efficient. It takes a while to stack up both items, On top of that all stacking items are really EXPENSIVE Hunters = Less DPS, worse lategame than standard build Mages = Takes MUCH longer to finish stacking From my experience, if u want to get hp in a build with book of thoth, i get gem of isolation as it gives u instant hp and 90 power without any stacking needed. Double stacking is powerful, but is inefficient. IMO, it is only advisable to double stack in either Duel

I never spend long double stacking it all depends on the game mode but I agree with you on conquest I don't double stack and I don't even stack at all on arena lol idk why I just don't like going through that

Arena is 18min max, so yeah, you'll be better not stacking warlock. Book of Thoth is still good tho. Depends for the gamemod and god, but double stacking is actually a pain in the ass on some if they are helped early. Midgame and latter on they can rekt the hell out of you (thinking about guys like anubis) Kkk is nice for double stacking because the mana you gain with warlock combined with your passive helps not hurting your damage curve so much early on

you can't compare everything to crit when you do physical builds because the non crit build will always come up short since crit is so powerful in smite for literally no reason

u should try double stack dom orb and book or sash. give u a good early game brute power to trade vs the mid and in late game u trade doom orb for desolation.

I think you could make an argument for double-stacking in duel, but no one really seems to think anything but conquest is a legitimate game mode, even though, personally, I find clash or joust more fun, even if they take less "skill."
