A range review of the new Smith and Wesson SD9 2.0. This new version features the new Smith and Wesson trigger found on their M&P/Shield line; however, does that mean that the SD series now has a decent trigger?

Apart from the trigger the SDVE is mechanically a good gun. Many still around today and in good order. If the trigger on the SD9 2.0 is improved and it's all that you can afford or need then I'd say go for it

Brother I really enjoyed this video review. I have both sd9ve and the 2.0, so I completely understand what you’re going through lol.

Bought one last week 300 brand new 25 rounds in the trigger pin walked almost all the way out I had the sd9 ve before the 2.0 with no issues needless to say the 2.0 is no more trade it for a used xd9 mod2 subcompact grip zone and very very happy I did

The trigger on my SD9 2.0 is about 5 lbs. It was rhe focus of the update. I think you got a dud. Though i will say I have the same accuracy woes.

Good video👍 Thanks for the review as I’ve never held a SD9. I agree that it doesn’t compete with a Canik TP9 or PSA dagger for the same $300 ish.

I really don’t know what you’re talking about the trigger being heavy to pull it should be an improvement in the trigger.

That is what people have said, but according to my trigger gauge it was still really heavy. I think it was probably better than the original, but it still wasn't good. I am thinking about getting another to try to see if maybe I just got a bad one.

I hate to admit to having the original SW9VE that they got sued for. It actually has crimped magazines so it can only hold ten rounds. It sits on the back shelf and isn't used lol.

I'm in east TN so that should tell you how long ago I bought it with crimped magazines.

Get both keep the OG SD9VE🪶👑 in MCK🎒 just edc the 2.0,both will fit tlr1/7 MP9 4.25/4 inch holsters , but the OG SD9VE aka trainer glock 🎯😂 is the more reliable trigger leave em STOCK internally shoot em smooth, just stipple the rest of the untextured grip/finger rest/trigger pad/front half underguard and dab orange in the centers of the RS dots shoot it till it breaks, but what they should of did with the 2.0 SD was do a 3.6 Compact/SC so it still has a rail and would fit MP9 3.6 holster which is the better buy from SW,2.0 MP40 3.6 compact/ MP9 3.6 SC over the G23/26 any day,SD’s are the lowest you ever go for a reliable HP eaters never Taurus 🚮keep HPs in the oems and FMJ,Critical D,+woods in marked extds 💨🚘🐗🐻,also might need to drift your RS if the POI is off on the SDs

Yeah I still call them Sigmas. Haha. I knew the trigger sucks as my neighbor had one. Again its another striker without a manual safety so not for me. Thanks for sharing.

With that trigger you really wouldn't need a safety. It is so heavy it is not going off unless you mean for it to. I let my wife try it and she was barely able to pull it.
