I got se up on the side of the Umpqua River in Oregon to do some detecting. It looked like a great remote spot on a gravel bar. I had set up camp in the middle of a BB gun range. I was so disgusted I repacked the camp and moved. Sometimes civilization gets to be a problem.

When working a pit that doesn’t have exposed decomposing bedrock, what do you guys look for? I was at a pit recently that had a ton of tailings ontop red clay, but I felt like I wouldn’t find gold do to not being on old bedrock. But there was none! Any help would be awesome :)

Each pit is different some have small gold and others have bigger gold bedrock helps if it’s not all broken up
