Winch didn't pull the truck up the side, the crane did. It may have been held by the winch and a snatch block but still pulled by the crane.

They used the crane as an anchor point, through a block back to the truck. The winch did lift the truck, but only half the weight(plus friction).

Well they could have shown everyone that the winch pulled off this stunt in one go. Just to show us that the winch didn't have to stop every 45 seconds and then had to let the winch cool off for 10 minutes. The video was long enough to to have shown everyone how good the winch really is.

Cool Video for flashiness. But bad Video for showing off the product. They dont show the winch actually pulling the truck up, they made it look like the crane did all the work. But also DONT be fooled, theyre using a snatch block to double(i think its double) the pulling force. Im not mad they used a snatch block, but they definitely should have said they were using one.

The thing you do not understand is all of these recovery winches are rated for ROLLING weight at a zero slope, not OVERHEAD weight. The snatch block was absolutely necessary in a situation like this. Looks like Smittybilt made a very capable product.

Dang it diesel brothers. You need to be more clear and transparent. Quit the bullshit for show. That’s a 12,000 lb winch with a 24,000lb mechanical advantage, and the crane 🏗 was showed doing most of the work. But with a snatch block your just showing how well the line can hold up the truck,

6,000 lb truck with a 12,000lb winch with a snatch block and 24,000 lb mechanical advantage...yeah I’d hope that Chinese winch would work for the 6,000 lb truck why wouldn’t it...the harbor freight 9,000 lb winch would do it

X20 Smittybilt winches / Great BUT / IF they break there are NO Parts. I was told today that the solenoid i need, is in on a 60-90 day back order and not taking any more orders for the part. WHAT! Yea 30' of cable on the ground and NO parts. Fortunatly after tearing the front off my Truck to get to the winch solenoids, Yes you can override the solenoinds on the back side of the solenoind, by pushing in the rod. Been nice if Smittybilt shared this info with me. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obouisly there going out of business !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't waste your money on Smittybilt. My x20 gen 3 stopped working after a couple iterations. The parts are on backorder with no date available. I am a fool for buying this winch, don't be like me.

Smittybilt doesn't stand by their warranty. Had my 2 year old winch break. I sold my truck and was going to get winch repaired and put on my new truck and they wanted to see it mounted. I don't have the truck anymore so I couldn't. No where in the advertised warranty does it say that. Dishonest company.
