my cousin is an architect and I introduced him to Valheim few months ago and he's really into it. he even built bases with tunnels connecting from one biome to another. he found a spot where biomes are connected in short distances. he designs awesome houses too. he says if he's gonna have a chance to build a house with medieval aesthetics in real life then he would do it.

As someone who never pays for dlc, never pre-orders, and never buys microtransactions; I gotta say Valheim is worth buying. A friend bought it for me to play on his server and its easily one of my favorite games. The devs clearly love it, its not just some profit project to them. If you're waiting to buy it until they "officially" launch, you're doing yourself a disservice. Honest take.

This comment is a bit late but another style of building for the swamp is treehouses. The larger trees that can’t be damaged act like the ground, providing the maximum structure. I like to make multiple small buildings or houses that each have their own function, and connection them with walkways.

As always, your builds are are on supreme-grade quality. Absolutely love that swamp house. It's my favorite biome due to the Diablo II vibe. The plains house is very unique too. It looks like what you'll find irl. As a Southeast Asian, I give my stamp of approval. Though, I think it's preferable for you to just mention the ethnicity instead because there's literally hundreds of cultures in SEA; and nearly all of them has distinct architecture style. It would be helpful for finding the references and for those who are interested, I guarantee exploring our cultures' styles would be fun. There's WAY more to Asian architecture than Japanese and Chinese. Btw, would you consider making house designs for fire-hazard enabled world? I don't think I've seen any videos for it.
@smittysurvival2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! Totally fair on your comment about Southeast Asia overgeneralization. Specifically I spent time in China/Japan/Korea, but the vast breadth of countries with distinct cultures and influences probably rendered that as an insufficient descriptor. I myself am Japanese/Korean so I definitely can appreciate the differences amongst cultures in Asia 🙌🏻
@LilNom2 ай бұрын
@@smittysurvival You are? That's totally unexpected from your voice and how you speak. :o Yes, honestly the overgeneralization is a bit saddening (not referring to your video, but in general). Throughout the world, when people mention about Asian countries, it's always only refer to China/Japan/Korea, It's like the rest of us doesn't exist, despite probably having the most diverse cultures in the world. You're one of the best, if not the best builder I've seen for ANY game. And the way you present your content is top notch. I hope I will always get to see your videos for years to come. :D

I've thought about doing something like this, but never got around to it. A hunting lodge in the Meadows with a farm, and a few board. A large log cabin in the Black Forest. A home on stilts with exaggerated roof in the Swamp, so I can stand outside without getting wet. A stone fort on top of a Mountain. A large estate in the wide open Plains. I haven't played in the Mistlands or Ashlands yet, but I imagine another stone structure in Mistlands so Gjalls can't burn it down, and a great castle in the Ashlands to repel a warband.

I love the idea of detailed building in valheim, but sometimes it just feels like the game does everything it can to disincentivize it. I mean, what's the point of spending hours getting my interior decor right just for a troll to walk in and demolish half my home? God forbid I need upgrade stations that can't be placed too close to each other, then I have to make a whole room just for that crafting station. It's just such a pain sometimes and it's a little upsetting.
@jelliqalАй бұрын
I have a solution,I build on a hillside and the raise the front edge to make a cellar (earth wall troll proof) area. Then add a moat. A moat and an earth wall is an unbreachable defense. Can access with either ladders or portals. But I end up with a raised homestead - elevated and safe. I build my farm/ ranch away from base - cause a camp needs 3 base structure - so a portal and a workbench and a chest is only 2 elements. Oh and advantage of multi heights is many of the ugly upgrades can be stuck under the floor, too.

Idk why but when Im olaying with my friends(rarely happens sadly) my building evolves into something else I was playing with my friend and we settled into a bf I started with a wooden box as any survival player would start with than I leveled it up into a somewhat good looking hut than my friend seperated his house from mine because we both wanted to build a good looking settlement and we were annoyed from the greydwarves so we built some walls then we killed elder. I wanted to level up my house again because it looked bad kinda and I got corewood now and a lot more wood with elder power ot started to look real good just like a cabin I also have the habit of BUILD everything inside even smelters and coal makers I had a bunch of experience with them earlier it got real cramped and storage room was in my base I wanted to go 1 more level up and built my last floor and a ceiling for storage never continued that house or finished it its still there because I wont ever play in that world without my friend.
