I would’ve put on a N-95 mask and a face shield. DA with microfiber/wool pad works great and saves the body fatigue. Awesome products from this company.

Hi Chelsea, I've had my used mazda 3 detailed plus an ozone treatment, plus chlorine dioxide treatment. I can't smell "cigarettes" but it smells musty. I realise my clothes and hands smell like smoke from touching the steering wheel so the smoke is likely embedded in everything. What should I do? An overnight chlorine dioxide treatment?

Have you replaced the cabin filter? And when they detailed it did they shampoo everything? I would do a overnight chlorine dioxide treatment if youre still concerned. When was it detailed?

@@attention2detailswchelsea I replaced the cabin filter myself after the second treatment. I assume they shampooed because I noticed fewer marks in the headliner. I purchased the chlorine dioxide treatment from your other video and let it run overnight. I might leave it still in my car another night before airing it out. Will report back on the results.

Spray the towel, then clean the surface versus spraying it on the headliner because you’re just going to push the dirt further out and make a clean spot

Hello Chelsea from Australia :) Sadly there's probably a 98% chance we can't get Aftermath Biohazard Cleaner here which is a pity because that worked so well.. Also what is that square drive sticking out the side of you DA?

Can I use a pet enzyme like Rocco? Wanna do this before my second ozone treatment? Not a lot of stains just want to get smoke particles out. Also don’t have a polisher can I use a drill and pad instead?

Was that just a typo and I need to make sure to get the 6" pad too so it fits the polisher 6" head? For context I'm totally not in this business and just trying to work on a used car I just bought that reeks of cigarettes and is physically affecting my breath and eyes and if I can't fix it I'll have to sell it. (Also I'm probably going to go with the cheapie $67.94 AVID power buffer just for my one or two time project so hopefully that's fine)

You definitely can’t go too aggressively cleaning a headliner in a smokers car. The adhesive and foam backing will have already started to break down from the by products of the smoke. It will inevitably sag and need to be re-glued. Never buy a car that’s been smoked in. Plastics and fabrics will have already suffered damage that will shorten their life.

@@reeb9016 Do what Chelsea did and apply using a spray bottle and gently use a DA or by hand with a microfiber towel. If you add any heat or excess moisture, you risk causing the glue and foam to breakdown even more quickly. Remember, your addressing the staining. Odor removal can be done using an ozone generator after and initial cleaning of all surfaces.
