I've been pretty successful with CG Nonsense 10:1 ratio and use the extractor vacuum. You are right about not being aggressive. Headliners are very flimsy and will damage easily. I use your technique which works phenomenal by the way. This is also a very viable addition to your services offered. You be presenting some real situations so it makes your videos easy to relate to and learn from.

I appreciate your...’keep it simple stupid’ approach to detailing... Yes it heals the small guys out here that don’t have all the FANCY machines (bless their little ol heart who do)...lol I too spent like 1,500 a couple years ago on detailing equipment...only to discover I’d spent way ore then needed on UNNECESSARY equipment that actually slowed down my progress...(hauling,taking out, setting up etc...) I’ve learned as you stress...it doesn’t take so much stuff to deliver superior results... Love your channel...big fan...u keep me interested in my trade...yes I’m a full time detailed...and I love this stuff!!! I sit around a lot in my off time and watch you and a few others....CLEAN CARS!!! Hahaha.... Who does that? When off work...watches WORK lol Anywho...Thanks for the great content Oscar....!

Hey bro! To clean the over head liner I usually use my mc McCulloch 1385 steamer and it works wonders. I spray hot steam on the stained area in small circular motion and then wipe it off with a microfiber towel. After all that I spray some APC to add a final touch and it works wonders for me.

I don’t like to leave negative comments but that persons headliner is now wrecked, as will be those of the people using this vid to learn. Those cleaning methods absolutely caused that headliner to sag badly! Using a drill brush on a headliner isn’t just overkill, it’s destructive! Now that suv needs a replacement headliner.

Does spraying the APC first before using a brush and aggressive motion prevent the liner fabric from fraying and loosening fibers? My husband attempted to clean the headliner on his Prius and thankfully it is not sagging but he had like loose fraying fibers over the area now. It no longer has the smooth look and feel. Is there anything that can be used to lay those fibers down and smooth it out?? Thanks! 😊

This is 100% how not to do a headliner! U never, ever, use a stiff brush, especially on a drill lol. Are u ppl blind? Did u not see the headliner sagging pretty much everywhere he hit with the drill! U never want to saturate it either! Excellent video on how to destroy a headliner. Like most headliner cleaning videos on KZbin lol! Bet that whole thing was hanging down within a week! The adhesive that holds the fabric is super delicate. That's why a real detail shop wont touch them! If u must clean ur own headliner. Use a dry no rinse foam cleaner. (A real upholstery cleaner) not an all purpose cleaner, it will destroy the adhesive. And a microfiber cloth and rub gently. Who am I? Mechanic over 20yrs, replaced hundreds of headliners because of ppl fkn them up like this! Cant believe this dude actually posted this lmao!😂😂😂

Yea I was cringing at this. Been detailing for over 10 years . I never spray directly on the headliner or use an abrasive brush like that. I usually get a terry towel. Spray a small amount on the towel and use some elbow grease. Even when he spoke about the steamer I’m like oh God no. That’s a sure way to melt the glue . But hey if this is how he’s been doing it with no problems then more power to him but I definitely won’t be doing that

Not looking good. This will damage your headliner if it is like felt. I want it to look like factory not have balls on it. Blot is the best way. I have a 3000GT Vr4 98 with under 40,000 miles. Yes there is no way to prevent a 22 year old car from having a dirty headliner. However you couldn't tell until some dumb ass mechanic touch it with his greasy hands. If you work on cars wash your hands before you get in and drive it!! I got it out with Griot's interior cleaner. I wish they sold something that would make it look dirty again in that area. I don't want to have to clean the whole headliner to make it match. Why does everyone see an old car and don't care even if it is perfect. Same thing has happened at shops with my 19 yo Civic. I am going to have to tell them any damage and they are going to have to pay the $500 bill for a paint chip if any tools are dropped on it or $$ for having brake fluid on their hands and making the whole steering wheel eventually disintegrate. However today if I say that they'll refuse to work on it becuase no one f***ing cares anymore. I've been to several places. I am now going to find a place that restores cars and pay more money in order to save money and the hassle. I would hope they respect cars.
