I did this same concept for radiator/coolant system. put a tire stem valve through a spare radiator cap and pumped air with a bicycle pump

Just disconnect the evap line from the purge valve and connect up there.

The first time it was here I wasted about 40 min trying to figure out how to smoke test it. With the new tool I had the smoke test done in 15 min . Work smarter not harder! 👍

Not having to balance or hang the smoke machine up where you're working is a nice bonus. Cool idea, thanks.

At first glance I thought this was another "How To" video of some Chicago Hoodlum yo-yo punk thinking he just reinvented the bong. Glad to see it's Jonathan, with an incredibly versatile tool- an automotive smoke machine! Thank you for the video, mech a n🔧c.

It's a great tool! I got mine from eastwood but I just found it on JEGS for less www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/81388/10002/-1?gclid=Cj0KCQjw4PKTBhD8ARIsAHChzRKTWdv736w-ZbbQxbE4Y9rbFT-ZkSVDREccWUgvaRz1YIzwaMuamBoaAiV6EALw_wcB

I love the DYI home made tool! Awesome innovation for smoke testing. What scan/command tool did you use? I was looking into buying a 3,000 ALLTel one but it seems like it will be WAY overkill IMO. I have a wireless OBD2 scanner that reads most codes but unfortunately no way to command the ECU or modules.

Thanks for watching. The scanner I'm using is the launch diagun 4 , it's a very capable tool with bi directional functions 👍

How did u learn the evap system? What each part does and how they collaborate with one another?
@themechanic6117
@themechanic6117 2 жыл бұрын
Even though different cars have different evap system designs they usually have the same basic functions. It's not uncommon to have to do research. Over the years you just get better at it like any other job
