I picked up a Z Grill, and was excited to replace my Masterbuilt. however the lack of smoke control has me thinking I need to add an additional way to get more smoke. It just really doesn't put out near the amount of smoke that you really want. My first rack of ribs (as an experienced smoker) had almost zero smoke taste with running the 3-2-1 method for pork ribs. too bad I gave the Masterbuilt and all the accessories to it away, because the Z Grill could defiantly benefit from the smoke tubes I was running... guess its time to buy more of them.

AWESOME JOE. Love that hat brother;).... I'm in the not much difference between a Yoder, Z, Pit Boss, and so forth. Only in flavor. Some, but not much. That said. The Yoder and those types of class grill will be rocking and rolling for years to come while the others have been junked. Another great video. I love beef ribs and have a rack on as I type. Cheers brother and thanks again for wearing that hat;).... Cheers.

over the years, i realized that i need to first rinse and rub the little bone bits (that are left behind from them cutting them) off of the meat or bone ends, or they come back to get you later. then i dry the meat and either rub on mustard or mayo, and then add my rub. both mustard and mayo make a great binder for the rub.
@SmokinJoesPitBBQ3 жыл бұрын
It's not a bad idea to rinse off the edges like you say. Sometimes there are a ton of little bones left from when they're cut. 👍🏼

Hey Joe, love the videos. I have a WSM, and enjoy the smoke flavor I get off of it. I had food cooked on a Traeger, but felt that the smoke flavor was really mild. Nice video, ribs looked great! I did an experiment last week and cooked two racks of beef ribs, one without trimming the top at all and the other I took everything off. Honestly, I couldn’t taste anything unpleasant on the rack I didn’t trim and even think it was more juicy then the other rack with the extra fat on top.

Great job on the ribs. I think the Yoder is a better smoker, but the Z Grills is a better value. I own a Z Grills 1000 series. I bought it brand new for $650. I currently have a Traeger Ironwood and I am not happy with the lack of smoke or smoke flavor it has. I have tried all different kinds of pellets also. I have been looking at the Yoder and just want to know if it produces more smoke then the others or is it similar.
@SmokinJoesPitBBQ3 жыл бұрын
Hello Jeff, it's going to be similar but much more efficient. I have heard from friends that the smoke flavor on the traeger is too lite. You can also try a smoke tube or smoke at a lower temperature to get more smoky flavor.👍
