I pretty much watch all the BBQ and cooking channels on KZbin and Malcom is by far my favorite. Did you see how happy he got when that little chunk fell off when he was slicing? You just can’t fake that reaction, I loved it!

I only started smoking meat a few years ago. I always come back to Malcolm Reed! I started smoking the Thanksgiving turkey about eight years ago-no other way can compare. I'm smoking my first ham this weekend for the family. Thanks, Malcolm, for all your info and hard work for all of us!

Malcom!! Just wow, I'm up north of the border in Prevost Quebec. My mamma passed away in 2017, but I can tell you she smelled that ham where ever she went, used a Coleman cookout pellet BBQ/smoker, hickory pellets. The only difference is I used creamed honey from Costco and just WOW! Best ham we had, puts them sugar shacks up here to shame. Keep up the great work buddy, cheers!

@@emmapasqule2432 I think Malcolm's colon is just fine Emma... not something you have to worry about. Unless you are looking in the toilet after he goes potty, or wishing to inspect his back side, you shouldn't have to worry about the health of his colon. Perhaps just focus on your own anus and colon for now. As long as your anus functions properly, then don't worry about Malcolms.

And that's where Tennessee and Texas are different. Brisket is still King for Easter. Back in the day briskets always went on sale for Easter. Bought them all day long for less than $.80 lb. Those days are long gone. Would fill the freezer with them, to use for grind with deer meat. Be interesting to know what the first smoking on that ham was 🤔. Malcom always said hickory was best for pork. I tend to agree although I'm a south Texas mesquite man tried and true.

glad I still have some killer hog bbq rub left over. Just picked up a beautiful Berkshire ham for Easter. Only thing different I'm gonna do is take a pineapple and smoke it on the rack above and let the drippings baste and glaze the ham.

I love those picnic hams...especially on the smoker. Something I always do with my hams is 'de-salinate' them. As strange as it sounds, boil the ham in a large pot of water for about an hour. You can do this ahead of time if you like. Remove from the water, towel dry, and set on a rack for 30 minutes or more. Cook/Smoke as normal. You'll have a far superior ham that isn't super salty.

Nice! Only thing I would do is during the initial 2-hour bake, prep the glaze and leave the ham on the grill, then apply the glaze. I wouldn’t want the ham to lose too much moisture or heat from the grill as it rests on the counter.

I thought the same thing, so today I planned on a longer cook time with this recipe. At the 3 1/2 hour mark....91.3° internal temp. I certainly don't consider that screaming hot, that's hardly warm. Maybe at 350° you might get there in that time, but no way in hell is anyone getting a screaming hot ham in 3ish hours running at 250°. My ham was even a bit smaller than the one in this video. Great way of doing a ham, but I'll be adjusting the cooking method and temps for sure.
