MFP, really enjoying your vids, though you also need to include the original 1969 version of ‘The Italian Job’. Awesome car chases, fantastic cars and the real heroes of the movie are the three Mark 1 Austin Cooper S! Also, the stunt director is the was the great Remy Julienne. As you can guess, I am a real fan of this movie and reckon it is one of the best car chase movies of all time! It would be great if you feature this movie in your list! 👍

burt was originally supposed to be snowman and Jerry was supposed to be bandit. but when but got ahold of the script he flipped the roles. 3 kws 2 trailers. one truck and trailer burned in a warehouse fire. 5 trans ams 8 cop cars. Jerry wrote the title song on to minutes on set. and direct said he'd fire him. not kill him. and the sheriff justice adlibed most of the movie.

Talking about the Trans Am jumping over the river. When John Schneider and Jack Gill (who got to drive another Trans Am (wink wink) recreated the stunt for "Stand On It" they trashed the Dodge they used.

The last dialogue in the movie is Junior, yelling: "Daddy, don't leave me! Who'll hold your hat?!", as the front right wheel comes off. The frame freezes, end credits are rolling with song "The Legend" that also played in the movie's opening. NOT East Bound and Down🚫 As for the main vehicles: GM provided four Pontiac TransAM and two LeMans that were constantly scavenged for parts as the filming went on💥🔥
@MFPMapFilmProductions5 ай бұрын
No, the movie ends with Eastbound and Down in the end credits. You can easily look it up on KZbin.

@@MFPMapFilmProductions OK, my fault. But there are three version of this movie out there. Original 1977, remastered DVD 2006 release, and remastered 4k Blu-ray release. For full enjoyment, original 1977 (Monaural) release is the one to get. The 2006, and later has all of it's original sound effect replaced. Engine sound and growls in 1977 (Pontiac V8s) were (almost) all recorded on scene, and sound mind blowing!🤯🤯🤯 2006 and later releases sound like wet farts...😆😆😆

@@JustPeasant Cheers for that info, I will keep an eye out to see if there are any big differences. I still remember as a kid in Australia, the TV version I recorded back in the 80s had the "Scum Bum" swearing (which I use to say all the time in school and home as a result from this movie) and it had the deleted scenes in it as well. So I will see what other differences are about of this movie.

Okay. Love thw video. However, the Firebird TAs were not 77s. They are 76 models. They are wearing 77 front clips, as part of the deal with Pontiac, only way they would agree to lend them the cars. It's in the DVD commentary track.

i think the fate of the trans am in the movie is known, i haven't seen Smokey and the Bandit 2 in a long time but didn't the bandit "drink it up"? he sold it for beer money if i remember correctly
@MFPMapFilmProductions2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I thought about mentioning that. But I felt like there was not enough confirmation that Sowman and Bandit were talking about the same Trans Am used in the first film. Perhaps he bought a replacement one or Snowman got him another one. I would imagine the car would have been sold at police auction after it got picked up and no one would be foolish enough to claim to owning it. It's possible someone got it back for him. But not enough info. I'd be more upset at the loss of the Kenworth. It was only like 3-4 years old, and losing that would be more of a loss. Wish a little bit more talk about if the bet was won or if they got or lost the vehicles and booze was talked about in the sequel.

@@oregonfordguy9812 with the crappy little turbo motor tho. Ruined that movie for me. I owned a black '78 with Fisher t-tops and currently own a '77 SE with Hurst t-tops that I'm restoring. Both are 400 cars. Granted they had neutered the heads by then, but they can be spiced up pretty easy

@@thomashart9304Heard they were unhappy enough with the performance they had to equip it with Nitrous. Though personally for me the problem with II is that it didn't really have any good chase scenes, the first movie had a lot of small chases throughout. II had the very short chase through the RollerCoaster midway then a big scene at the end, but that felt more like a demo derby then a chase. In general it was just a slog to get through. I actually enjoyed III more then II, a good example of doing more with less.
