Smokey is the ultimate gentleman, a creative Genius and a true Brotha who is honorable and honest. I have loved Smokey since I was a kid going to the Fox Theater with my brother to see the Motown Revue.

Stevie started producing all his own albums from Music of My Mind in 1972. Songs In The Key Of Life was four albums later. He was also producing other artists before Songs In The Key Of Life, including the late Minnie Riperton and his ex-wife, Syreeta.

There's also the nearly forgotten "Where I'm Coming From" album which proceeded "Music of my Mind" that Stevie took the reigns on.

Yeah, _What’s Going On_ really changed the game at Motown as far as letting artist produce whole albums of themselves and I think Stevie benefited the most from it. Stevie’s first producing credit on himself was the song “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” in 1970 but correct me if I’m wrong.

One of my favorite Smokey albums is 1977’s _Deep In My Soul._ “ I wore the B side out on that jammy between “If You Want My Love,” “You Cannot Laugh Alone” and especially “In My Corner.” Favorite Smokey album cover pic definitely goes to 1980’s _Warm Thoughts._ I usually don’t care for men in cowboy hats or fur coats but Smokey was sporting both and pulled it off quite nicely. 🤭

@@CantTellYou Yes! I had to go hear it again and ended up listening to that song 3 times in a row. I love the transition between the first verse on into the chorus, that: “What’s so fuuuuun-nnneeee, you cannot laugh alone” part. Seamless. I live! 🙃

Just remember no cameras back then so it was your word against the cops. That kid getting beat up & killed that's all over the news right now, you would have heard absolutely nothing.

Man, I'm twisted right now. I'm an actual Smokey Robinson fan, why can't Vlad ask at least some of the questions Fantano asks like his setup for different projects? This is clown world whatever happened to doing objective interviews damn. Vlad says he focuses on the significant things in their life and my guy was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in 1987. I get Vlad wants to tie convos together but this is not how Smokey Robinson should be interviewed by Vlad's own method even.
