If you're wondering why my posts haven't been as often, thats because things just naturally slow down in the wintertime! I have been spending long hours in the office, and time with family. I appreciate your understanding and for sticking around. love showing you what I do everyday, and am looking forward to doing that through this coming year. Planting is just around the corner! Should we plant with the LSW tires, or change them out for the duals? Any suggestions for a good brand of row sweeps/row closers?

Laura and Grant, IMO, there are many reasons your vlogs stand out from other farm vlogs. We actually get to see you two working, discussing and figuring things out. You let know why you do things today and how it prepares you for what’s to come. We also get to see how you genuinely care for one another and how well you work together. You guys are educational and most enjoyable.

Put the tires on that will fit in the rows since you'll have to put them on later, thereby saving lots of time later changing them when you may have more important things to do.

Change the tires for planting. Compaction and balancing the planter will be more dificult when the soil is a bit wet and sticky Do what you can to make all the rows are being planted with the same soil conditions.

Just had my own battle with the hydraulic filter on my tractor. I ended up using two standard filter wrenches next to each other and a piece of pipe larger enough to accept both handles. Still took some grunt but got it done. I am now on the lookout for that darned filter goblin that sneaks in my shop and over tightens my filters!

Pretty sure that the sidewalls on those LSWs would be greatly fatigued by that 3pt load and may fail prematurely! Don't know the operational parameters, but at current inflation, way to much sidewall movement I'm thinking. Have a great day!

My husband said " it would be best to put the skinny planting tires back on since you are going to need them back on anyway, it could save a bit of time when you are going to be busy ". He also wondered if a spoke type closing wheel would work better in your type of land, they have some good ones on the market now . Just saying, you will figure it out you guys are young and smart and know what will work best for you . Always enjoy your videos !!

The open end of the strap wrench accepts a half inch ratchet or breaker bar. Slip the band around the filter canister and rotate the square bar until the strap is tight, then you can twist the filter off using the wrench or breaker bar.

Those strap filter wrenches are fantastic and they work on any size filter. Connect it to an extender on a 1/2" ratchet, put the strap around the filter and start turning. The strap will just keep tightening down on the filter without crushing it until it's tight enough to loosen the filter.
