Bought one, used it and it works good for the first 8-10 flushes. But, when you go to take the filled liner out of it to dispose of it, it is very heavy and your poop piles up in the center and it can eventually make contact with your bottom. I would recommend the manufacturer make smaller liners to handle only 6-8 flushes.

I am in the process of buying a motorhome ( not the first one we own) and I was reading in the description a "dry flush toilet" and you are the first one to explain this to me. 30 years ago I became aware of how much one can do for the environment by simply recycling. I read a few books from environmentalist leaders and I became a master recycler. Later I realized that as we are recycling on one end someone is making the same product behind us. We just have to walk in any supermarket isle to realize how much garbage we are producing by participating in buying all of that. And not all the world has good recycling facilities, and all of that is sold all over the world. We have had the privilege to have traveled to many countries. The same laundry and toiletries you buy in the USA you see them all over the Earth. I go to supermarkets when we travel to see what people use for every day life and to see prices to understand how much they spend in those items. Some people in developed countries refuse to participate and recycle because "they don't have time". 9 Million tooth paste tubes get thrown into the landfill sites yearly. They are not recyclable and it would take 500 years to break down. I can go on and on but if you think about it, what we are doing as a human race is incredibly damaging... and stupid for our planet and the future of our children and their children... I use now laundry strips ( I always used powdered detergent like my mother did), shampoo bars for my hair and it is fantastic and shoulder length, tooth powder which I keep in a little glass refillable jar, wool drying balls for when I rarely use the dryer ( I hang my clothes in a special device I saw in Europe that with a rope and pullies I lift to the highest part of a high ceiling room, I live in Canada so there is not much sun here yet with ingenuity I conserve energy), they replace fabric softener which I never used but they also speed up the drying process and fluff fabric. And with those and many other changes I cut down in my recyclable needs...to leave a cleaner Earth for my grandchildren and yours. The dry flush toilet is an idea, but a terrible idea for the environment. It just creates more garbage in a very unsanitary way. Human defecation should not go to the landfill sites. It should go into the sewage plants. The idea that is "very sanitary" is such a mistake...I find that the "canister" is a total disregard for the environment, creating garbage for no real reason. And how incredibly embarrassing it would be for ME to take a smelly large bag full of human defecation into "the garbage". Whose garbage? A camp site? Where one wants to be and enjoy nature? To leave that in the common garbage bins? What if something pierces the bag and the smell comes out upsetting the area? The garbage bins in the street of a nice passing town? And leaving that unrecyclable material in their landfill site? Why? No no my friend...I will make sure that any motorhome we buy DOES NOT have a DRY FLUSH TOILET. No way! I will use the old style water flushing toilet and black holding tank. Under no circumstances I am participating in that absolutely irresponsible practice of putting human feces and urine wrapped in environmentally unfriendly shinny-metal-looking plastic with a hard plastic canister and a black nylon bag into other's landfill sites. I am of the opinion that those dry flushing toilets should be outlawed. We travel around the sun in the same planet, what we do affects all its inhabitants. Knowledge is power. Now you know THAT is a very bad idea for our planet. Talk to the owner of the company and ask him to invent and manufacture an environmentally friendly toilet for all his grandchildren's future, and your children and grandchildren...and everyone's. He is a veteran so he is old enough to be a grandfather. Maybe he didn't think on the garbage he is creating....We all think on that for our daily use items and even the rarely or seldom used items. My garbage contribution is about one 80 L bin every 6 months. I know most households throw that much once a week. If I can do it everybody can.

The sales rep told me the dimension were 16 x 18 x 20 which are not the ones that are posted on their web site, hence my confusion. The sales rep told me that the web site was just updated and that she did not know that the posted dimensions had changed. So I inquired if the product has been changed and her response was no, it is still the same as it has always been. So either the web site is wrong or the sales rep is wrong about the item being modified... So your post is of no help. What are the measured dimensions from an actual dry flush?

It's a nice looking toilet and I was considering it. But now, seeing how it works, $600+ for the unit and $1.05 every time you flush - you're literally flushing money down the toilet. A nice porta pot with cat litter would save hundreds every year.

It does. I ha e been usi g a bucket with cat litter since three years. And even then, you could use dried leaves and wood shavings.

But it's the most clean, hygienic, cleaning and hassle free toilet unit. Seem like having a classic air flight toilet experience everyday.😁

I’d love to get this, BUT, I looked up the cost of those refills. It’ll cost about $1.50 to $2.00 per flush. Pretty pricey.

If you plan on getting one order it asap because it takes months to get it! They must be hand carved out of a solid piece of plastic or something...

$1000 for the toilet, $30 per refill. Manufacturer says "up to" 17 flushes per cartridge, so that probably means a dozen. So about $3 now per flush.

Idk why I'm watching this lol but to the folks concerned with eco waste, this toilet is not a regular use everyday toilet lol. It's for recreational use toilet meaning you'd probably only use it for a few trips a year and not use that many bags. It's pretty cool!

Havine nice time can be with no problems for the next ones ! For small spaces as boats i like this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpbJhZmad5h5fq8 Why to mix fertility with expensive plastic? There are plenty of ways to transform this "waste" into garden gold why peoples thanks God for the food they eat, then they transform fertility into pollution? No water but electricity and you have to buy bags, i would prefer not to shit than to use this Counter intuitive gadget

This toilet is almost $1,000 and almost $2 a flush! It's clever twisting the continuous bag to seal. I'm sure there is a way to make a DIY bucket inside a bucket that you manually twist the inner bucket when done to do the same thing to a common trash bag. Take care
@allthingsharbor2 жыл бұрын
True, it is pricey, but in a $150K or more RV, what's $1K ?
@JimTMcDaniels12 жыл бұрын
@@allthingsharbor yes isn’t ill how we don’t fully inform the public about a product’s pros and cons so they can make an informed decision for their situation? I mean too many of us are following fear and greed and keeping real love from our world. Only when directly asked so we discuss some of the cons…. We are conning ourselves into a hellish earth

AND to use compostible bags, NOT throw away that plastic ring after 3 goes AND NOT to add a further plastic tough bag for disposal!!...NOT impressed!!
@melissaoleary8196 Жыл бұрын
Jim, good idea! I'm going to start fiddling around with that idea! And with compostable bags, yes.
@JimTMcDaniels1 Жыл бұрын
@@allthingsharbor well let’s see with your math illogic, if we have to spend $1k for just one part on the RV…with all its many parts adds up to a multi million dollar RV

I think ill go with composting if this is the alternative.
