For me it was the best thing i could've done. Total abstinence was a huge mistake. Going back to it, repeating the cycle of realising you don't like the feeling of it anymore, then taking 5 days to recover from 1 nights use, that is what makes you WANT to stop, for someone who originally didn't.

@@ericfitzgerald9214 i found that they end up not being withdrawals. They end up being time recovering from the hangover. You just want it to go away and the thought of smoking more just seems stupid. It takes me 5 days to fully recover and that's just a waste of my life. If i were you, i would have it if i really wanted it. It isn't a big deal. I made too much of a deal out of it. I know i don't want it. I know it sucks feeling how i do after it. If i want it, i suffer the consequences and move forward.

Yes, the key ingredient in quitting is realizing that you really WANT to, and the best way to do that is to get burned a few times. I used to smoke cigarettes if I was out at the bar drinking. One time I got so sick from nicotine I almost passed out. Literally never took a puff again after that. After about the 3rd or 4th time you try smoking with a low tolerance and discover how uncomfortable the anxiety spike is, you'll be way more determined to quit to avoid that uncomfortable feeling. I also recommend weaning yourself off slowly to avoid any potential withdrawal symptoms once you've made your decision to quit.

I 'quit' smoking within the last 6 weeks.. I have tried smoking several times recently, mostly because my addictive voice is saying it will help relieve stress. What happens is I immediately get too high (even with extremely small amounts) and my day is thrown off, also leaving me unbalanced the day(s) following. I find myself using and coming to the same realization each time; I hate being high. My mom actually stopped me from smoking last night (family member is enabling my addiction). She walked me out and made sure I didn't take a hit in the garage.. I said, "you're walking me out?" She said, "were you going to smoke?" I said yes and she replied "you don't do that anymore." "Fair enough." I said, and I didn't get a beer that night on my drive home.. slept like a baby 👍

This is exactly my point. It's revisiting using that actually turns us away even further. The most important part of the process in my opinion. I did the same thing with alcohol. You revisit then realise you actually WANT to stop. Forcing abstinence is not the way in my opinion.

I feel like there hasn’t been a time in my life where I haven’t been reliant on some sort of vice, so this experience is new to me. I’m feeling very little motivation for life and struggling with lots of depression. It really sucks. Not sure if I know how to do life anymore, or if I ever learned in the first place. Make it to 1 year and reevaluate it from there. The real change comes at the 1 year mark. Don’t give up no matter what. If at the 1 year mark you still don’t feel anything has changed by all means go back to smoking; however if you can make it to 1 year life will forever be different in a positive way. Don’t keep going though the same cycle every 3-4 months like I did for over a decade.

After 24 year’s of smoking daily from the moment I wake up I have decided that its time for a change. I still want to do more in life, It made me too content, Having dreams but never really chasing them and so I’ve since gone this last week (with help from all of you) from very heavy use to moderate, just smoking one before bed with the plan to stop completely ASAP. I have felt so much better for not being stoned all day long and even amongst the intense cravings my mind has been so much clearer, I can’t thank you enough or the people in the comments for helping to give others the courage and certainty that they can do it too. I now know what lies ahead, but I’m more determined than ever, So possibly another week or two of moderate use and then I am going to do it but I’m going to be watching these videos and videos on this topic every day to really start mentally preparing and re-routing those pathways. 🙏

i’m off hash, shatter and tobacco for 27 days. I used it to get out of bed and couldn’t start my day until i smoked. I woke up everyday wanting to quit, because my lungs were trashed, but couldn’t get going without it. Telling some good friends (a men’s group that i started) the full painful truth really helped. This particular video comes at the right time for me, because 27 days in, the cravings have largely passed (!), but I still struggle to get through my day. So I started thinking I might as well smoke again to be productive and this video reminded me that it’s better (at least) to wait 90 days or more, to commit fully to sobriety before jumping back in. And if i’m honest, hash + nicotine did increase my productivity at work, socially and the gym for quite a few years, but I quit because it wasn’t working anymore. I’m pretty sure I’m an all in guy and that my life will be better with total abstinence. My next step is taking charge of my eating. Gotta level up. Thanks again.

I'm well! I made it! The terror is gone! It only took a month! I learned that with Cannibinoid Hypernemesis Syndrome {HCS] i can't even have one puff without inhaling--or it's another terrible night of shakes , sweats and anxiety. That's what happens to long term smokers. I'm so happy now, I feel like a child and look like one too! I figured out the pot is stored in fat tissue---isn't that the skin? I've struggled with both pure OCD and magical thinking OCD all my life. I also had my rodeo with weed, alcohol, psychedelics and Amphetamines. Weed is probably the worst thing you can use if you have OCD. One one hand it was a nice body high but my OCD symptoms would flare up for weeks after a single puff of Marijuana. I remember getting high after making progress with my condition thinking it was no big deal. Then laying in bed feeling super good, in the beginning. Then a tsunami of intrusive thoughts hit and I was up until 2:30 am unable to sleep. Since stopping alcohol 3 weeks ago and other things a few months ago my ocd rituals and other mental issues are in remission

Once CHS hits---cannibinoid hypernemesis syndrome--there's no way you can go back. Suddenly everything brings panic, sweats and shakes. Not inhaling won't help. You've now crossed that line. Pot is like Lucifer: it works so well at first you get addicted but at one point you hit the wall.

I struggle with this topic - I feel that if I avoid the convenience of oil and concentrated THC I could easily have a healthy relationship with weed where I smoke very occasionally. The question is though - over the last weeks I have been out with friends sober was there a situation where I truly felt I needed to have a toke from my friends joint? Honestly, no… and I enjoy not having a single bit of anxiety. And lastly, I’m proud of my sobriety! I really look up to a lot of people who have chosen this for themselves.

So I'm a therapist I work with a ton of mostly young men trying or being told to quit... I guess I'd push back on the "don't get anything from it" line. They get something from it and by ignoring that I think you slow the progress. I'm not and never have been addicted to thc but, certainly other things. Once you evaluate the pros you can have an honest conversation about the cons which have probably already been thrown in their face. I do appreciate your content though

Weed on moderation is not easy but I think I’ve mastered it after waking and baking for more than 10 years. First I had to work on the stressors themselves. The worst was financial insecurity and once that was resolved, things got much easier. Then my kids went off to college, I found a new job that I love, became a vegetarian. I quit smoking and vaping and now only do edibles. I also use various CBD products. I never do THC alone. With these steps, I achieve the very effects I do weed for in the first place-staying true to myself and pursuing my life goals as an artist. Cannabis is my spiritual medicine and I have to treat it with respect.

From what i commonly hear when it comes to over-use and being hooked or wanting to use over again, weed has a pretty poor reputation, I have decided a number of times whether or not i should give Magic Mushrooms a try (Psilocybin Mushrooms) and really get this massive rush and psychedelic experience and synergesis of multiple crossing of thoughts, feelings, and feel how layers of me peel over and re-build me and all that happens all over again in a trip of 8 - 12 hours and you don't really want to repeat the experience again and if done properly the afterglow is good in so unpredictable way, you mostly come out healed without ever remembering what depression even means even though you remember what it was and you don't even worry about getting it again.

@heinzletzte.6385
@heinzletzte.6385 2 ай бұрын
In order to not go crazy and start tweaking you need to start out with a very small amount and work your way up incrementally during the session, start low and smoke more every 30 minutes. If you smoke a 2 gram joint instantly you will lose your marbles. And do not extend the session beyond one day, your sleep cycle needs to reset again after that, usually physical withdrawal takes 2 weeks, so I would recommend taking a break 2 times as long, only doing a session once a month. This way your emotions and motivation will not go dull, you will get no anxiety and the high is 100x better. If thats not possible for you then I would recommend not smoking at all or maybe drink a beer instead.

Your videos always seems to be spot on! I know professionally and personally I am better sober. Cannabis can be nice for creativity and pleasure where it is food, or a little extra fun. However the trade of is, then the next day, couple days probably are resulting in a less than where I would have been sober. So then it’s an equation of will this time using benefit towards a great novel idea, or a fun experience, over giving up truely progressing in my life. I’d say more often than not it doesn’t work. But every once in a while heck yeah was beneficial. But over the long run, not really. Yeah, but not to. Might be where I roll a dice and hit a four 😂 Side note I run a marketing channel where I make content and help business improve their social media exposure. If I go sober for a month, are you down to do an interview?

I was sober for about six weeks and did it on my own, cold turkey, no smoking at all, no ncotin and no cannabis in any form... after this I tried vaping destilled CBD liquid (95%) and I can say I would not do it again and I would not recommend it all...I was not high, of course niot, but it worked on me vey strong and I felt like beeing stoned without the psychedelic effect of THC, but with just the negative side-effects (like my eyes went half-closed for example) and my mood turned low and negative.. the next morning I started with coughing and I felt the effect for nearly 4 days..I mean it took that long till I felt clean again, with a clear mind... felt like my receptors were blocked and my lungs were also very much affected by vaping this liquid .. in the past I used to smoke a lot, but I didn't vape.. it was a stupid experiment and I decided, that it's good, not to just quit THC, but all cannabis-products.. guess the terpenes were making me kind of "high" and triggered my addiction-memory.. I felt the craving was coming back again, even though the effects didn't go that deep... so maybe my experience on that can be helpful for some people... hold on brothers!

hi i’m currently on day 12 of no weed as of writing this - my original plan was to stop using weed for 30 days to detox and get rid of/greatly lessen brain fog that daily use was giving me and then after the 30 days i would be able to use weed but limit it to at most 1-2 times a week - do you think this is a good idea (for me - someone who thinks they can realistically moderate it in that way)? should i take a longer initial break more than 30 days to clear brain fog? i think i’ll be ok in general, but i am curious what you (and anyone else who may reply to this) would think about my taking of a 30 day “detox” break 🤓👍
@kidrai9547
@kidrai9547 25 күн бұрын
Idk how long you should detox but you will be able to tell when the brain fog is clear. So don’t set goal for 30 days. Everyone’s body have different time period when it come to detoxing THC. Here’s a tip if you want detox process to be faster. Exercise a lot. Sweating also brings THC out of the body too Also smoke 1-2 times a week it’s not a good choice. The bottom line is A time period that takes to completely clean THC out of your body after 1 sesh. If it’s taking a week then 1 sesh per week. If it takes month then take 1 sesh per month. You can do it. Believe in yourself. ❤

Hey bro I feel you I smoked for 12 years, mostly in moderation(1-2 spliffs a day)except when life would suck (5 spliffs a day at my worst), taking an undefined break now to learn programming Try exercising, eventually you'll get addicted to this and weed wont be so appealing anymore The first week is gonna be difficult, there's no other way around it, maybe take a sick leave from work if it helps because you probably won't sleep much and you're gonna be kinda sad and anxious, but if you keep smoking despite wanting to quit then you'll lose self esteem I struggle with the moderate approach, for me cold turkey is the only way because once you're addicted, you'll always find a good reason to roll another one if you have some at home What keeps me on track these days is I heard tobacco can make you impotent, and since I would smoke cigs for not smoking joints all day, and put tobacco in the joint to stretch my weed and because I enjoy it more this way, I want to stop because I dont want end up being a cuck Put your mind to something else, dont listen to songs that get you in a mood to smoke (I know it's hard, my music streaming app is 90% Young Thug and Future), and understand that suffering means you're progressing Wish you the best
