I used to smoke weed heavily until I had a dream in November 2020 about going to hell for sexual sin/fornication, and smoking weed. I gave my life to Christ in July 2020. Fast forward a little over 3 years later, I’m sober, married, and pregnant with a baby girl. It was not easy to get to this place that I am today, but only with God’s help was it possible. It is possible to give up something you think you need because the enemy does a good job at making you think you need sin, but God. 💗☺️

Been smoking since i was 13 and and I'm 23 now .... I can say I always felt this knowing inside my spirit the duality of living through it in my life. Its been a rough heart of change, but its needed for sure. I tend to run back and fourth. But truthfully I think its time I let that part of me rest and take care when I forgive, I was tell the Lord I'm sorry Its hard Ill keep trying to quit, That I want his appetite to no longer crave smoking. It did do a lot for me but where I am now and transition. The Horizon has broadened. I hope to continue in the strength and spirt of thriving away from it. Amen for this opportunity thank you

Aye, I am telling you from my personal journey that God will help you stay clean of weed and other addictive behaviors. I have experienced having cravings and an appetite for things that aren’t according to the word of God. I asked God to take the pleasure and appetite away and The Holy Spirit helps me daily. Bc I will not lie to you and say I don’t think about it or feel like maybe just once or a little bit of this or that but I remember that I do Not want to grieve the Lord and how God means more to me than chasing the feeling. I want God more than anything and anyone. I had to get rid of everything that was associated and change up my patterns and keep my eyes on God. I know He Redeems and delivers and sets free because I am living it and daily God renews my mind. It wasn’t easy but it was a choice of laying down my wants for His will and losing my life to find new life in Christ. I pray you experience Jesus in a tangible way and your tastes change and you allow the Holy Spirit to keep you in every moment. In Jesus name amen.

What about the drugs your doctor prescribes you or the poison chemicals in your foods? Why have we been programmed to believe a plant called cannabis is evil? When used correctly helps to heal. Yet you listen to your doctor who openly hands out poison could it be to keep you believing all of the devils lies because you do know this is Satan's world why would satan allow a natural way of healing oneself and risk losing his power over gods children when satan can keep poisoning you with pharmaceuticals etc

God allowed me to use weed as help with medical treatment for chronic pain. I prayed and fast, I waited. Also actually soon after, because I was praying and fasting God had been strengthening my faith and asked me to give it up. I told Him I was afraid, but because I love Him and I Trust Him. I still have some pain, but not nearly as much as I did in the past. He started teaching me of what to eat, and do to help with the pain. But I don't judge anyone because I understand, not everyone has an addiction but even if we do, God can STILL deliver US! I don't desire to smoke anymore and even at the time, I have had a medical marijuana card. Even then, it didn't matter, God wanted me to lay it down and pick Him up instead. 🖤

I absolutely love this clip. Being able to breakdown both the difference AND similarities in sin vs. weight. This comment section is proof that this discussion needs to be happening. A LOT of people here are showing their hands. "If it's not directly called out as a sin, if I CAN'T FIND the Bible verse that EXPLICITLY calls it sin, I'm gonna keep doing it" - is the adopted attitude of so many and it's heartbreaking. The verse says "let us strip off every weight that slows us down, ESPECIALLY the sin that so easily trips us up." Notice how it doesn't say only, but especially. Meaning - EVERY weight that slows us down. Our walk in faith is not about us getting as close to sin as possible without going over - this isn't The Price is Right....THE PRICE WAS PAID! If you’re a repentant Christian, if you’re SAVED, and you wanna get high, get high....just stop acting like you have scripture that supports you're glorifying God in doing so 🤷‍♂

Lives are being changed, and people are being saved. The only thing is, I have a secret struggle. I have been trying to overcome it in private, but to no avail. It’s eating me up inside. Every night before I go to bed, I smoke about half a joint. it helps my arthritis, helps me eat, and it helps me sleep. But I still feel convicted about it because I feel like a fraud. I’m a “hypoChristian” if you will. I need serious prayer. And I KNOW I need to repent. And each week eats me up more and more 😫😫😫 Yall pray for me. I know God is calling me higher

It’s interesting to see how many folks battle with this spirit in the comments. If your body is the temple and dwelling place of the Holy Spirit why do you need weed? How is weed giving glory to God or his kingdom? How does it uplift the body of Christ? The best high is the Holy Spirit. I’m not saying what I think but what I know. Been there done that. Praying that Jesus brings revelation. ❤

I think as Believers we need to be concerned when another brother or sister in Christ is doing something harmful to themselves and also yes we need to help them process what's going on and why they're doing what they're doing. I understand what he's saying because it does matter that we are of the Temple of the Holy spirit. We shouldn't be putting things into our bodies that can cause us not to have self-control which is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. But also we have to understand and come to the knowledge of what caused that person to get in that spot so that we can be more understanding of what drove them to that place. And I think if we're not careful we'll miss that part of it. It's one thing to say stop doing it it's another to find out why they're doing it

We dont want to course correct. We are on journey- but which path are we taking? To each their own- we all have free will. Um. This sounded really like “my sin isn’t bad but yours is” if you choose not to cuss on the podcast but cuss on your everyday life, how is that okay? If I smoke alone in my own house and no one ever sees me, is it okay then? I have been smoking weed for the past 10 years. I have had the biggest revelations and amazing prayer time while I was outside smoking talking to God. But God showed me the grace he was giving me at the time allowing me to do so, because God is working on my heart. He’s going to leave the weed alone for awhile until I mature spiritually. Now that I’m maturing, God has shown me that weed isn’t for me anymore. But you are on a podcast, speaking to ppl to educate them. Cussing. Talking about a man boning his wife? Your speech is offensive. I’ve heard you say the N word plenty of times. The seasoned minister. But you’re going to judge ppl who smoke? Saying feel the departure from other believers? Cmon Tim.

I believe with something like weed, it’s on the same level as having a glass of wine, and I would argue it’s a step above. If you feel guilt, shame, or conviction when you smoke, lay it down. If it’s degrading your character, lay it down. If you struggle with addiction, lay it down. But if you’re a mature adult human being who has self control, and you want to have a smoke every now and then in your private space, and your heart/mind is clear, I see no problem nor weight. If you can drink (sip some wine/beer) you can smoke. And weed, is far better for you than alcohol. Alcohol is literally toxins. Weed is natural from the Earth, made by God. I believe it varies per individual. No one “needs” it. No one also “needs” to have a drink. Just my thoughts. It’s honestly a deep and nuanced topic. To me condemning a brother or sister for smoking is foolish and is the opposite of what Yeshua taught. Unless it is clearly negatively affecting their life, then there is no issue. Much love ya’ll✌🏼.

And then on top of that when her other friends are doing other things that are not smoking weed that are just as wrong is she going to leave them and stop being their friend? That I don't agree with. And let me repeat that I'm not saying hang out with them while they're smoking the weed but I'm saying I'm not going to not be your friend just because you're smoking weed. 👀 God snatched me up at the end of last year and I was just like her friend. I had told myself everything I could to keep smoking weed. The issue was I was smoking so much weed it was hindering an entire gift that God gave me. I think the reason why he may be saying cut her off because she’s saying she used it to connect to God which gives witchcraft/voodoo/3rdeye vibes. Other than that I don’t think he would have told her that bc in no way are you getting closer to God through weed. Weed was an entire idol for me, I HAD to smoke before any and everything and that’s why I had to cut it out at the root and then removed myself from my friends because they would tell me how they don’t think it would be an issue with God. We need friends to pull us out of the pit not tell us to stay in it or talk us out of stopping something that’s hindering us from being intimate with God. On the flip side, if you are in your friends business so much that you feel like what they are doing is a weight and she isn’t doing it around you, you in too deep. If she’s not smoking around you, talking about it to you but you are the one bringing it up you are trying to play God and that’s NOT your job so it just all depends. It sounds like the friend is trying to act like a savior as well, which God will correct her if she is.

I felt a deeper sense of spirituality when smoking weed... at first. However, I found that it was a false sense of spirituality and closeness with God - it was a counterfeit (hello, tricks of the enemy), and it ended up making me feel a little insane and questioning if I was hearing from God. I went back to the verse about being sober minded and that was all the evidence I needed that it was not pleasing to God and to quit smoking weed immediately.

Believers who wish to stop smoking should expect this an increase of: 1. The withdrawals 2. The temptations You have to go through this in order to be delivered. Use your resources, pray to God, read your Bible, confess your weed addictions with someone, break free. I believe you can do it. Jesus does as well. Remain blessed.

I just quit smoking weed for the Lord. It was not easy as the marijuana made today is different from the natural weed smoked back in the day. The weed today is highly concentrated and HIGHLY addictive. I really appreciate how Tim broke down the difference between weight vs sin. The bible doesn't specifically condemn weed, however, any substance or thing you put before God becomes your idol. The fact that this person has to smoke weed to commune with the Lord is problematic as the Holy Spirit already grants us immediate access to Jesus. You don't need a crutch to talk to God. I'm not judging at all but I think people need to realize that although it's not a sin, weed is not healthy for your body temple. You can get cancer, lung disease, even GINGIVITIS as well as losing brain cells from smoking marijuana. It has some of the same negative impacts as smoking tobacco. It comes down to acknowledging and treating your body as a vessel for the Holy Spirit. Make sure what you consume is healthy for your mind, body, and Spirit. Praying for this person and anyone else out there struggling with addiction in Jesus name 🙏❤

I don't smoke but confess that I bake with marijuana and believe I had closer encounters with God even others would contradict that. Obviously there isn't much to argue against Ps. Tim Ross or in biblical context. However I disagree that God doesn't love me because I'm high and still reach out to Him. If my friend doesn't want to be with me because I use, then this friend was never meant to be. So goodbye friend. To use God as an excuse is harsh even when you can prove it biblically. Yes I know that God wants me to be of sober mind. But my mind is dealing with this world's problems and often wonder "where is God in it". Personally you should outweigh the pro's and cons of marijuana and for everyone this is different. Again there is no scripture that can back up my opinion but losing friendship over it and putting God in the middle as a cause - is hypocrisy. I am still a believer of Christ you never take that away from me.

It's not a sin, just like drinking isn't a sin. I think Paul says it like this, all things are lawful to me but all things aren't helpful. If you get to a point where you can't live without it, barring a medical condition, then you have turned it into an idol just like alcoholics make their drink their idol. Idolatry is a sin. I personally put weed and wine in the same category, if I can't do it in moderation then it's not helpful for me and I need to stay away to ensure it doesn't become a gateway to other things.

Weed is no different than the many chemicals man uses to treat anxiety, depression, nausea, appetite. The only difference is that in many places it is considered an illegal substance. If you condemn weed and not all those other medications than you are being a hypocrite. The problem with weed as with any other substance including prescribed medication is it can be highly addictive for many people. The same way one can get addicted to the many pain medications prescribed, one can get addicted to weed. In that case you are making it an idol and therefore it is a sin. Thank GOD for THE BLOOD. If it is illegal where you are and you buy it, you aren't obeying the laws of the land which goes against scripture. If it is causing problems in your relationship or interfering with you being able to maintain at your job, you may want to consider an alternative. If it is causing you to neglect financial responsibility or interfering in your ability to be a good steward, you may want to look into an alternative. I for one couldn't afford it. It was just as expensive if not more as the copays associated with the medications my doctor was prescribing but harder to access because where I live it is illegal without a card. Still, when I was in my deepest part of depression, smoking weed was the only thing that motivated me to even pick up my Bible. It didn't cause me the same side effects that the zolof, paxil, wellbutrin, celexa, hydroxyzine just to mention a few of the many medications I was prescribed. Those medications did the bare minimum if anything for my mental health but left me still physically exhausted and lacking motivation. Weed however helped me focus, gave me energy and helped with the joint pain I suffer from. I wasn't smoking every day all day. I didn't have the desire to do that but on days when I couldn't deal with the anxiety or the depression I smoked and it helped keep me from cocooning myself in my bed and slipping back into the sinkhole. GOD's grace is sufficient and HE covered me. HE also led me to start looking into seamoss as an alternative and I am feeling better physically and mentally than I have in a long time. That's my experience. If that causes someone to question my salvation or relationship with THE MOST HIGH or makes them not want to be involved with me, that's between them and GOD. It doesn't change what CHRIST did at the cross for me. I pray that if weed is your thorn, you keep seeking HIM and trusting HIM. I pray that you allow HIM to show you if you've made it or any other medication an idol or crutch and that in HIS time, HE delivers you. I pray that HE surrounds you with people that see you and can speak life into you. I pray that you don't allow condemnation to sink you deeper into depression but that you also never lose your desire to put HIM above all things. I am confident that HE who has begun a good work in you will being it to completion.

Seems hypocritical for sure. I heard Tim say he is not cursing by definition of a curse...to be so technical is really a form of pride, that is the equivalent of smokers saying the bible doesn't say cannabis is a sin...at this point believers are defending their sin rather than cutting it off...Ephesians 5:4 does speak on filthiness and foolish talking...it's not convenient meaning not edifying...just like using God's name in vain/ as an expression "good god almighty" is inappropriate but believers get loose and either ignore conviction from The Spirit or have lost feeling for the way The Lord feels about it. It appears Tim and Tiphani (teachers that have helped me) struggle with the same spirit of loose speech/arrogance, as teachers especially, they should heed warnings like these!! Some of us are still sensitized, as it should be, and flinch every time we hear those words, think of the images they paint in people's thoughts with their words...life and death IS in the power of the tongue. Watch the partiality sensei Timmy

Boundaries can and should be set when necessary.. but in my experience, I've wanted to cut off people that offend me in many ways including claiming to know and love God but do other things. I was convicted about walking away from people just because I didn't agree on even a personal level, I def shouldn't care about my friend smoking weed.. also, I think the Word in 1st Corinthians is warning about becoming influenced by those friends.. not so much shun them from the friend group. That's the friend that needs to be embraced but also pray in private if they seem to think their sin is not sin, at this time. Let's talk about it, friend. Thank you for bringing up the WORD. Our opinions mean nothing, what did GOD say?? But yes, my response is based on my journey walking with God and how I believe He has lead me to see things personally.. which brings another point, He got us all doing something different at different times for different reasons. We should just love and encourage each other cus as it is in Heaven, we ALL gonna make it to Jesus so let's move about one another with that mindset, right? @@kennybrooks8374Because Christ died not only to forgive you of your past sins, but also so that you may be righteous and holy FREE from sin, when you choose sin you are forsaking the very thing that Jesus died for . That is why they say you “left” God because with Jesus you have the strength to overcome temptation and sin, but if you choose to sin knowing that…that’s called rebellion or “straying away”. Hope that helps !

@@kennybrooks8374 ”What shall we say [to all this]? Should we continue in sin and practice sin as a habit so that [God’s gift of] grace may increase and overflow? Certainly not! How can we, the very ones who died to sin, continue to live in it any longer? Or are you ignorant of the fact that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We have therefore been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory and power of the Father, we too might walk habitually in newness of life [abandoning our old ways].“ ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Christ died for our sins, but we don't just continue to willingly sin because we know this! Accepting Christ would include us dying of our old selves just as He died and nailed sin to the cross and becoming new creatures, just Christ rose on the 3rd day and became NEW. 🤍 I'm going to keep praying for you and everyone else! Much love, be blessed!

I don’t believe he’s saying cannabis is a sin but her purpose of using said “herb”. His intention is to spread the word that this indignation she persists to continue is what’s holding her back from growing. She uses the plant as gateway to god like the Catholicism uses a priest to confess their sins instead of praying to Yah himself. The friend of the lady is making her habit innate before she begins to pray which is definitely close to idolatry.

it's a bit difficult for me to hear that marijuana is a sin but strong language is not...the bible seems to make claims for the rebuke of both. this feels a little hypocritical and i mean this in the most sincere way...
