me, being Russian, living in Russia, I am so happy to see Tom's videos every time they appear.. Really, I would give away half of my life to be able to get to Seattle and just shake this awesome incredible man's hand... Damn, you Americans what are u waiting for? this man is a legend, unique as he is..

Nah, we’re all like Tom here in the U.S. of A (at least in the wild western part). Comes from breathing the air of freedom! Our ballet sucks though.

Things are getting worse and worse in our country, we are tending to be isolated from the Western civilization while transforming into somewhat close to the Soviet Union ideologically and economically. Internally, we are all living in fear, since any word, any repost, any tweet, any statement in the 'wrong' direction either publicly or online and you risk to be prosecuted and jailed, true. no lies. Just like Northern Korea.

I really enjoyed myself yesterday at the Kitsap Pipe Club and even joined. Great bunch of people with lots of jokes and great pipes. Bought a cavalier pipe from Kevin that I just love. It's a great driving pipe which I found out from my two hour drive to Lilliwaup, Wa. I'm a metal pipe guy that smokes Falcon's, Kerstin's and I believe this cavalier is a Dunhill, at least by all the pictures I've seen. That makes me happy because I got a great deal ! It isn't marked though so I'm not 100% on that ! Great time had for sure. It was nice to try some tobacco I've never had before. Looking forward to the next meetup.

Thanks for this encouragement, Tom. I have a pipe club local to me (about a 25 minute drive) near Dublin, Ohio. I have been putting off going to it, self-conscious that I would not fit in. Your video is convincing me to give it a try.

Our expectations (in our heads, not in reality) gets in the way of a lot of things. Take your time, but I hope you show up for a smoke one of these days. If it's not to your liking, you can always depart. But you may find some real camaraderie that seems less common today. Let me know how it goes. -Tom

There is definitely a social aspect about pipe smoking, but also situational and location dependent. In the dead of winter with snow all around and an overcast sky, there is something about smoking a pipe and just taking in the environment around you.

Hi Tom. First time viewer and subscriber! Beans316/Brian, recommended your channel and I am glad he did. I agree on all counts and I miss sharing a smoke with friends. We even started brewing our beers and the group was tight and always open to others. I moved to SoCal and to say that it's tough here would be an understatement. My first apartment smoking wasn't allowed on one's own balcony. REALLY?! Really. *eyeroll* Cheers! Jack

Had considered attending Seattle pipe club’s meetings, been to their spot more than a few times. Never did when they were there, though. If kitsap were closer I’d enjoy the opportunity. Maybe someday.

Good point, well made. I've recently joined a pipe club that has virtual meeting, but also in person ones that aren't too far away. I'm looking forward to meeting some more like-minded folks.

You'd think there'd be a pipe club of some sort in the Portland metro area. I'm sure there are pipe smokers wishing the same thing, you just have to find each other. -Tom

Hello from Coupeville, a couple of us guys tried to start a pipe and cigar lounge in town about 7 years ago. We got so much flack from the ANTI SMOKERS that it never happened. Great video, I agree about an early spring.

We had a couple weeks of lows in the teens and have had a solid week of highs hitting 70 here in OK… not sure I should be excited, but I work on the high line so I’ve been enjoying it.

I go to a local shop Anthony's Cigar Improium, some pipe...mostly cigar smokers

Nah, it's just a number. It's the the satisfaction you get, and that little thrill when you decide you're going to have a smoke ... now what pipe shall I smoke? And what tobacco? Part of the enjoyment of the pipe. -Tom

We had a custodian at work(post office) that occasionally smoked a pipe, back when you could smoke inside, maybe 40 yrs ago. Other than him, I’ve never met or even seen another pipe smoker in public. Kind of sad. Lots of “smoke shops” (head shops we used to call them), no pipe/tobacco shops around.
